Its been a while since I have posted a build but instead of posting all the build pics, I have posted my build site below and then will post new pictures as I go. Update on the engine is I plan to use BluePrint Engines LS 427 FI 620hp. Not quit there yet but hope to have this on the road by the end of summer. Thanks

Love the build! I just read through your post over on CF....about the reaction I was expecting from those guys. I just purchased a pretty mint '69 small block for a similar but less radical project....LS motor, Lemans/Trans Am "influenced" but without the full chasis/cage/flares/etc. I too am of the theory to start a project with the best car you can afford, and you'll save money in the long run....some of the Vette guys just dont get that. Im looking forward to your progress!

I can not stop smiling my Blueprint LS3/427Fi was delivered today and it looks great. It dyno'd at 618hp at 6200 and 574 lbs torq at 4400 rpm. At 2800 rpm it has 500lbs of torq. I also ordered my TKO600 5 spd from American Power train from the flywheel back so I am slowly moving fwd. Andrew at Blueprint was great to work with. I almost have the rear suspension together with fuel cell next. Bill at American Power train was very good as well.

After two weeks of "honey do's" I had a few minutes this weekend to start things moving again. I mounted my Blue Print LS3 427 onto the frame, smoothed the firewall, closed in the air inlet holes on the bottom of the front valance and fitted the rear exhaust panel. I plan on shooting gel coat (Duretec) on the doors, firewall and T-tops this weekend and have it in primer ready for paint the first week of August. I'm slowly moving fwd

After a few delays I installed my TKO 600 from American Powertrain. I want add that their customer service is first rate. On Friday I noticed I had the wrong flywheel bolts so I called and they overnighted the correct bolts. On Sunday, I called their hot line to ask a question about the hydraulic throw-out bearing and their rep actually stepped out of church to answer my call, now that is special. I also ordered a box of 1 7/8" pipe along with 3 1/2 to begin to build my headers. I will use Ed's flanges with starter tubes and go from there. I'm looking into building something very similar to the header that is attached. Thanks

Great question the only thing I know is it will incorporate the Owens Corning stripe down the middle. I'm all over the page after that from black with silver stripe to grey and silver, orange and black or like the Blackwell corvette orange with yellow. I have some time

I've always loved the one that discusses not firing a warning shot... Ammo is expensive... LOL

I mean the starter to bellhousing the QuickTime needs a lot of grinding to fit all the starters I tried... Kinda pissed me off since they claim that they are designed for OEM starters

I think black side pipes/headers is the way too go your thought? As for wheels I was going with Team III LT models which do not come in black. I looked a CCW Classics in black but the $$$ is pretty steep. Once the car is painted I will seek help from company's for brakes/calibers and wheels etc.

The C6 Z07 looks good in that color with black wheels. Might just be one of those wait-and-see things after the car is painted. Gotta be careful with too much orange and black so it doesn't look too 'Halloweeny'.

Vstol.....love the progress! Im actually just starting a similar, yet less aggressive build on my '69 and also plan on running the ET wheels LTIIIs. Mine's Fathom green so I went with the ceramic coated side pipes but I think Your car will look really sharp in the orange with black pipes.

Are you planning on a stripe of any sort or just straight orange? As was stated above, I think some guys go a little far with the orange/black theme but I think orange with a flat black stripe on the L88 hood and black side pipes would look good with either the ET wheels, or CCW classics with a polished lip and black anodized or painted centers (see below). Keep up the good work!!!

Flat black stripe with black side pipes:

I would look to a gun metal color or even a dark bronze instead of black for the wheels. I think black wheels, even with a machined or polished lip, will be too much black and give you that Halloween effect. Getting a third color that's only on the rims into the mix is what I would do. I'd only put paint on the centers, too. Just my opinion. Glad the car's off to paint now. Hope you get it back quickly.

Have not been idle but slow. I have started on the dash, I have the engine harness wired, I am waiting for a Stainless Steel fuel line to arrive which will go under the car, I am almost done with the trans tunnel so it will be time to wire. I am going with American auto wires 22 circuit kit and another decision is I plan on using Kore3 C6 Z51 caliber and rotors for the front vice the C4. I got my headers and side pipes back from Jet hot and they came out great.

Side pipes look great! I want to coat my headers in the same color. Is it satin black?

One suggestion, sit in the car before finalizing the dash if you haven't already done so. I'm worried about how far down the dash comes so far back from the firewall. It looks like it would be close to your legs as you move them about to press the clutch and brakes. Could be me though. Even though I'm 6' tall, I sit rather close to the steering wheel when driving. Keep up the good work.

Vintage air was great in trouble shooting it with me and when it was identified it was the ECU I got a new one in two days!!!! On the other hand after we trouble shot the system (their support was very good as well) I shared fuel safe my build site to show them there has only been fuel in the system for 2 weeks and they said the warranty ran out tuff. They did take a few bucs off when I purchased anther one, lesson learned.

There is a free application i have used called irfanview that will resize the images to any size you like. It will even do batch resize and renames if you so desire. Did I mention it's FREE? :D

I will test the waters in the coming week putting the car up for sale. As mentioned with the Ride Tech 48hr Corvette selling last month for $127,800 it might be a good time to test the market. Cheers

Nice numbers! Good luck with the sale if you do decide to sell it. Do you know what you want to build next?

I will put it up for sale in the next two weeks, but no hurry. Next build no idea but it will most likely be my last.

Spring day so off I went for a 40 mile drive. It was the first time I sat in traffic but the water temp stayed steady at 210 degrees and oil temp never went past 170 degrees and that was when I was idling for about 5 minutes then stopped and go for several miles in town. Otherwise the oil temp stayed at 140 degrees. I just laugh when I hear there are cars with 700 plus HP. With 618hp and all this torque in a 3200 lb car it is a beast. Trying to see if the local airport will give us sometime for some high speed runs. Trying to get a video up on line, I need my daughters help.

Glad the drive went well and the engine stayed cooled. I don't bother to build to more than 500hp any more simply due to what you're experiencing. On a street car, it's more fun for me to keep the power reasonable.

After 500 miles with the Corbeau retractable harness I will pull it for a 5 point harness. Just never seemed to work the way I thought it should and with this car the 5 point is a much better solution and I still can reach all the switches. Pics soon, just ordered the harness.

It has been a while but I have been focused elsewhere as my Son LtCol Kevin Herrmann was killed on 6 Dec in the C-130 F-18 Mishap over the sea of Japan. Anyhow it was 10 degrees here on Monday and the car had been sitting for three weeks so I needed to get it moving. Of course it started right up, thank God for fuel injection. Just drove around the block a few times with the top speed of 30mph as the tires should not be out in this cold :). It was good to get in it and the heater worked just fine.

My car is on its way to Barrett Jackson in Connecticut in June, just thought I would share. I had sold it a few months back knowing it was going there.
