It will be at Russo and Steele Jan 15-19
wanted to let everyone know in case you know someone who might be interested.
It has been a really good car, fun to drive and race but time to move on and do something else.

If it sells would you be willing to tell us the hammer price? I think it is beneficial to everyone to keep track of prices on PT cars selling at auction.

Just be sure to get Russo and Steele to waive the seller's commission when they start hammering you to drop the reserve when it's on the block.
Those guys are pretty good though. We had a $50,000 reserve on a 67 GTO a few yeas ago, they started trying to get us to drop the reserve when the bid was at $35,000. My partner said "If I do, you'll hammer it and move on". He said he had 3 guys on it and wouldn't do that... We dropped the reserve and they worked it for another 5 minutes after the car had rolled off the stage...ended up with about $45,000 out of it when it was all said and done.
There are some real car guys over there to, it should do well.

I've noticed this too! The sales pitch they give is "drop the reserve and it will take off!" but watching it on tv, that almost never happens. I really enjoy watching the different cars but the whole auction circus is lost on me.

If it doesn't sell does it hurt the chance of selling it later at a higher price than bid?? Kinda curious.

I have a REASONABLE reserve on the car. and I WILL NOT give it away, like I said I don't have to sell it, if it doesn't go for the reserve I will keep it, it will cost me a couple grand to take it there so no big deal. The reserve barley covers the parts cost so it is a good deal for someone who knows what they want and what they are looking at, We have had 2 cars in the shop from auctions one a 67 Camaro the guy paid 55 plus commission and the other a 69 Camaro convert that was over 100 and both were FAR, FAR less quality than the Nova. Actually I don't think you could even compare them to the Nova. so I am not going to drop the price just so they can sell it, unless it is with in a couple grand of the reserve. but then if it goes higher all is good that is what we all hope for. we will see

Car didn't meet reserve. hi bit was only 67,000.
after being there for the week the crowd was a little older and the car I think was maybe to radicle, in the traditional PT sense. maybe if it had a set of Foose Legends and the ride height adjusted up 3 " it would have brought the reserve. WHO KNOWS. but like I said previously I didn't take it to give it away the reserve was reasonable.
No biggie it's still for sale

I was at BJ the last 3 days, and you are right on the money. Ring Brothers mustang went for like $150K I think and anything that was attempting to be a PT car with bad stance and (foose/TT/17"cragars) went for 100K+.

Yea honestly what is UPWITDAT???
there had to have been 15 67-69 Camaros at Russo all with those wheels and no stance....
next time I build a car to sell that is what it is getting I will just put someone ELSES name on the owner sheet

I took my old Nova to the local Mecum auction (January 2008) ... same thing. Stalled out around $65K, and I'm not sure that was even real money.
1.5 years later and the car went for $175K at B-J.
4 years after that and the car went for $150K at B-J.
Moral of the story: go where the money is. :)
