anyone with a wayne due subframe

looking for someone with a wayne due subframe putting an ls1 in it and the clearance is an issue i seen pictures and it looks like the later version might be higher to the center of the motor mount from the crossmember if someone has an ls in that subframe i need a measurement from the flat of the crossmember to the center of the motormount bolt thanks

My "GUESS" is just by looking at it -- it's based on Mustang II suspension settings -- the others are Corvette C-5 or C-6


I'm not trying to make the comparison so am not going to go check out all the various manufacturers to figure out who's making what... so this is just an unedumakated opinion that may not be valid at all.

My wayne due is an older version I believe. I bought it used quite a while ago, and it was originally set up for a big block. I had no issues with depth. I acutally cut the frame stands and shortened them to get the motor and trans down to 3 degrees from the 5 it was sitting at. I also had trouble getting the motor mounts lined up, as the stands were too close together and would bottom in the mounts, not allowing it to set down far enough to line the bolt holes up. I addressed this at same time that the mounts were shortened. Have you test fit the motor? If so post up some pics & lets see where youre running into issues. I'm using the stock F-body pan, if that helps you.

i have a mast and a stock f body pan neither will work there hitting the rack the engine has to move up the measurement from the crossmember to the center is 6" thanks for the help

pictures? we had a C5 bat pan on ours and it cleared...like to see your frame perches. Maybe a big block frame?

He has a Wayne Due subframe. He's using an LSx engine with both the Mast and Fbody pans. The engine is hitting the front cross member when he tries to put the engine in place. He has seen other, possibly later versions, of the same subframe where it appears that the engine mounts are higher up in the subframe there by raising the engine. He'd like to know if someone can give him a height measurement from the top of the cross member to the engine stand on the frame if they happen to have a Wayne Due subframe also.

Fairly straight forward question really. Then again, I'm from the south and we talk "funny".

No one ask me to translate Cajun though. I can't do it. What can I say? A man has his limitations.

I'll try to measure mine if I can fit a tape up in there. Give me a few days unless someone gets back to you sooner. I know mine is an early wayne due, and it was set up for a big block. I cant remember the exact figures, but I probably cut the stands down on mine about 1.5-2" going on memory alone. I lowered it as much as possible before the pan hit the rack.

Anything in the Heidts catalog under the Pro-G line is not MII but is a clean sheet design using their forged tall dropped A/F/X spindle. Nearly all aftermarket subframes use a MII rack and pinion assembly.

Most other subframes are also clean sheet designs even though they may use C5/6 corvette components like uprights and/or control arms.

In most cases you will find dimensions to be very close from manufacture to manufacture and the major differences will be in cost/quality of components used.
