No. He is the King of Sprint Cars. I sure enjoyed watching him race. He will be missed, but man what a career.
I'll never forget watching Steve wheelie all the way down the back straight at our local plus-sized 1/4 mile track in the early 80's. :confused59:

Back in the early 2000's the Woo were at Perris auto speedway We were in the pits there was a line a mile long to get Steve's autograph out the back of their rig. I walked from the front back between the rigs..walked up behind Steve, he jumped (guess i scared him) he asked "where the hell did you come from"? I crossed my arms and nodded my head like on the TV show.. I dream of Genie, then I handed him my hand out. He was lolololing so hard he could hardly sign it..
We somehow got up into Mark Kinsers rig and hung out with his mom and crewchief. Then Mark came in, he was bouncing off the walls (kind of a hiper dude) We ate cookies and drank with them listing to stories. What a fun time

I'll never forget watching him enter the corner at a fast 1/2 mile dirt track here (Calistoga) in Northern California. All the other World of Outlaws Sprint car drivers went into the corner & did the typical flick the back end out and slide it in to slow down. They were running 17.70 lap times at best.
Kinser went into the corner & just turned ... like he was on asphalt ... and carried major corner speed on this dirt 1/2 mile track. My jaw just dropped, as I had not seen that on a dirt track. He ran 17.10 lap times.
The race wasn't even close. He just dominated.
