Ok guys so we're thinking of taking the kids to Disney over winter break. Any suggestions on where to stay and where not to stay? First time going, so any help would be great, best place to book?
Is it better to get a package or book everything separate? Let me know what you guys think?
Disney Land or World?
Either way two things we've found.......stay at the Disney Hotels and get Fast Passes.
Their cruise is also exceptional.

Grammatical error #1 using Disney and cheaper.
You can minimize expenditures but thinking cheaper is being dishonest with yourself!
The Fast Pass system is a no-brainer if your kids and you want to go on the majority of feature rides. You can stand in line a long time which destroys your scheduling.
Then there's the priceless side of Disney..........

Will do Mike, thanks!!
One thing I noticed the last time I was there. It is NOT the happiest place on earth. Do not let them fool ya.:hairpullout:
But, my kids love it and we are always looking into going again. Last time we pulled the camper and stayed at their camp ground. That was awesome.
I also opted out of the meal plan. It was cheaper for us to just buy the meals straight out.

Just got back on saturday from disney and unless you want to eat quick service(hamburgers, chicken nuggets) for every meal. YOU NEED TO make reservations WELL in advance.

Isn't that the truth! I remember having the same thought. Like after my fourth trip through it's a small world. :sieg: Definitely a target rich environment for creating a photographic documentary of crying kids, temper tantrums, and stressed parents. :D

So the lady Pamela and I went to Diz World, Miami Beach, then Sema for our 25th. Sweet two weeks, yes expensive, but its not our 25th everyday so we binged a little (alot). In her words "wow the employees here (in flordia) are a lot less frienly than at Disneyland". I have to agree with her, just a few instances though, But Disney in Ca has loads of people waiting to work there so there is pretty much an unwritten rule of "no Tolerance" (my sons girlfried of 3 1/2 years worked there for 3).
Rick, Disneyland is far more condesned, good is you can see a lot in two three days, bad is its suuuper crowded. Good is hotels and food are far cheaper, and transportation is virtually elimianted. Disney World, 47sq miles as opposed to 3.5 sq miles, so all resorts, food, transportation, is aall Disney. Plus you just need way more time to see more. Their both pricey, but imo, quality.
I've never had a bad meal inside the park, either park. Much more booze at World than land (probably a reason that its less happier haha). I pm'd you my cell so call me if you have more questions, if i dont pick up, im in a short meeting and will call you back ......Mike

We went LAST December. After a lot of research trying to find the best price, I found this place to be the best: http://www.getawaytoday.com/
Got a package deal to DisneyLAND, a room big enough for the 6 of us (full suite, so we could cook inside rather than eat out every meal). Worked out well.

It was so frustrating at times that I made the joke of starting my own park called 48" and up. If you weren't that tall them you can't get in. Man were we going to have some awesome rides. Everything is fast. None of this small world garbage. I asked my wife why were riding this ride and she said it was because you had to. It was part of the experience. They did update a few of he rides when we were there. I think they washed the clothes of the dolls in the small world. Haha
