Would everyone please post up photo's of their DSE frame notching and mini tubing. Did everyone follow the DSE instructions or did you vary from it? Did you just box in the frame or do any lapping for more support and strength?

Thanks.

I'd just follow the DSE instructions. However, while the frame is opened up, it doesn't hurt to fab up some internal brackets to reinforce the frame rails in this area.

Timely post Ron. Just ordered my rearend and suspension and will be tackling it this winter. I have the DSE kit.

While the frame rail is open, I would put some vertical bracing in and then plate it as per DSE instructions.

Has anyone ever tried mini tubing is this direction? I know it's different but it would seem like there would be more strength and support. Thought's?

Lots of ways to do it Ron. Seems that would add some strength. How do you plan to finish it off?? If you fully weld it up I think you are going to do more work in the end to finish it, easier to weld and finish but more work. Just my thoughts on it.

A buddy of mine is doing a 69 Camaro and a similar thought occurred to him. We agree with the concept but make a separate piece (basically a piece of sheet-metal angle) and form it around to join the tub to floor instead of chopping and bending the floor to fit.

I see the difference from bending the metal down but I don't see the difference in rigidity.
