I very much relate to the discussion beginning at 18:50 ish.....
hahahahahaha
Thanks for posting - that was really kool even though I don't think I've ever seen either car. Still -- they are FERRARI'S and ya just want to know more about them!

Thanks Scott! I've always loved both cars, and after seeing them side by side I think I like old school better.

That`s a cool video :)
Cars like that is no more, the "poster-era" cars. When kids had posters of dream cars in their room.
Cars like this:
F40 + The GTO (who I had an Picture in frame of :D)
Countach
Testarossa
Porsche 959
The end of the era was
Jaguar XJ220
The ZR-1
And the Lotus Esprit was Nice too. These are the one I remember as a kid atleast.
Before People could dream of owning an 911 Turbo or Testarossa or other sports and supercars for their Whole life or most of their life without owning one.
Now everybody can just go and buy a Porsche if they really want, or a Vette or Ferrari, I could if I want too, but then I would have not any Money left, but I COULD if I want, before People could not at all.
Stuff like that was only in a dream, that goes to other stuff too, not just cars, TV`s, Telephones, gadgets and Kitchens, modern People can get what they want without to trying to hard. If you want it, you can get it.
The times of dreams are somewhat gone now.. You just get it when you want it...
(altough I like getting what I want.. Well, not all, but most I want.. :D)
What does kids have have Pictures of and posters of now? What are their dream cars and such? A riced out Supra or a BMW?
Hmm.. That came out of nowhere from.. :D

Amen GW!

I've always held the F40 near the top of my list. I like everything about it, especially all the things it doesn't have! Big HP, light weight and a chassis you can dirt track like that is the kind of adrenaline pump I dream of!

I was never a huge fan of the body style of either car, but the song from the F50's V12 is pure car porn for sure!! and after all, they are Ferrari's. Quite a design and performance at the time.
Great video post Sieg!! THANKS
(apologies for the slight hijack)
Makes me think back to the beautiful sound of those Ferrari F1 V12's during the 1989-1994 seasons

There were a couple Vectors that I could have bought last year for maybe 100K for the pair.

I don't know why Apple does the crap they do. I had to go buy new slideshow software for the features because the stuff we've used for years wasn't visible by Apple products. I'm not chasing that anymore, if they keep changing what their stuff can do I'm not going to spend money trying to keep up with it.
The new upgrade appears to have dumbed-down the phone.....IMO, to make the next one more desirable. That's how they roll......

Seen this video a little while ago. F40 has and always will be my Halo car even if its oldschool now. And yes I had a poster of it and a Vector on my wall as a kid.

I've been blessed with the opportunity to drive both these cars on several occasions (at work) and the F40 is by far one of the best & scariest drives ever - unless you are a pro driver like Chris Harris when the boost hits you had better be pointed straight because it hits SO hard, it's an intense experience - the F50 is great, the V12 pulls for days but nothing like the rush from the F40 - but you can't beat technology these cars can't keep up with an F12, 458 or even an FF

what do you do? Ferrari Tech?
His enthusiasm is infectious! To me, they both are magnificent cars. I think the F50 is gorgeous. I love how he says the F40 is like a kit car next to it. I always saw the F40 as a race car that was on the street. I would expect a race car to not have too much emphasis on fit and finish of the parts that don't make it go. So awesome to watch him drift the F40 out of those turn. Wow!

What an awesome opportunity to see two legends together. Out of that pair I am fonder of the F40, however there is no knocking an F50.
My holy grail of performance vehicle is the Mclaren F1 (the super rare LM more specifically). The F1 and F40 seem to be the standard for their respective decades, often compared as performance benchmarks. The Mclaren came into existence at the right time - modern regulations would have made for a very different car. For me it is the pinnacle and balance of design purity and uncompromised vehicle engineering - it was never intended to go racing, but with some tweaks it went on to take a 1,3,4,5 finish at the '95 24 Hours of Le Mans. Plus the 243 mph speed record it held onto for so many years...
Unfortunately they are a bit out of my price range, fetching $6-8 million nowadays depending on model/history. ;)

Yeah, a dealer tech - very challenging cars to work on, but it's fun - especially the road tests!

A Tech, is that a regular mechanic or an "Tech" like an person who only diagnoses problems and troubleshoot "hard problems" like electrical stuff? Sorry if I ask, but I hear/see "Tech" being said often, just Wonder.
And the F40 is a really cool car man, I think it is much cooler than the newer, because of the looks and performance only car. :) Even though the newer are faster, they are not as brutal kind of, but it probably is fast compared/keep up to many modern cars still.
1100kg +470HP Should go decent. :)

The term "Tech" at some point replaced "mechanic." Apparently "mechanic" wasn't prestigious enough.
Maybe customers feel as if their $100/hr+ labor rate is better spent on a tech, then a so called grease monkey mechanic, .

I can appreciate challenging. A friend who's somewhat a hands-on owner has a 355 that's been somewhat of a lemon......coincidentally it's yellow. :D The "packaging" doesn't exactly make replacing common service components easy at times.

I think MarkM66 stated it well - but I do like the "Car Doctor" thing
Yes Sieg, there are not many things that are easy to do on these cars
The F40 is iconic and fun to drive but have you guys seen Chris Harris drive the F12 and go through 4 sets of tires - F12 is an absolute Beast!!

Also look up Chris Harris and his volatile history with Ferrari
