Carbon Kustoms Ltd. will showcase the BFG Tire Bird in the MSD Atomic EFI booth.... The good folks at MSD/Atomic EFI and West Bend Dyno have been doing the SEMA thrash to make this possible.... Many thanks to a host of great industry supporters who have been extremely supportive as well.... The below picture was taken last week and West Bend will do a shake down run on the car at Road America next week prior to sending it off to SEMA

Carbon Fiber vintage Mustang body ?
Damn, I'm just going to give up and go lie in the grave now. That was always my lottery dream.
Although, the way this hobby is going it wouldn't surprise me if CF bodies for popular cars are routinely available - at least every single bolt on part and roof skin if not the internal structure.
I sure hope Ring bros shares a lot of build photos of both of those cars, sometimes they can be a bit stingy on that.

Hey guys hers an update on Steve's cars. Here is an excerpt from his e-mail.
We are unveiling a '72 Camaro (#TTCamaro) in the HRE Wheels booth (just below Ford) at 11:20 on Tuesday morning. The car is in Aston Martin Tungsten Silver on HRE rims. It features a Nelson Racing Engines twin turbo small block with his new mirror image turbos, lots of carbon fiber, full touch screen operation from ISIS and a few mild tweaks here and there. We've taken more of the Grand Touring approach to this build in terms of it being a powerful, luxurious, long distance highway cruiser type of sports car.
42578
42579
42580
We will also be pulling the cover off of a 68 Charger in the Sherwin Williams Automotive Finishes booth in North Hall at 1:30 on Tuesday. With a street/strip design, its our interpretation of a pre-production piece that could have been used by Dodge to promote the new for '68 body style. It has a big Hemi and the '66/'67 4-bucket interior with some other tweaks that maybe they could have been considering for the new car but just never made production.

Kenny will be bringing 2nd Chance to Sema for DEI.
It is actually being built to be a driver so it's not really pro-touring or grand touring. Just touring in general as it will be my bike hauler for the Summer.
ps He has taken this simple driver to the next level. He is balancing a thin line between to nice and not wanting to drive it.

We (HPI) are bringing our latest build, which we have kept a secret from everyone, to display for Paxton in their booth. I still won't show you what it is yet, but heres a build shot of the engine bay as a teaser. And sorry for being under a rock lately, its been all hands on deck for this build to get finished for SEMA and in a small company like ours, that means no time for extra curricular activities I guess?

We sunk the Viper engine back into the passenger compartment a bit, all 10 cylinders start at the front axle centerline and extend rearward. That Paxton blower adds a ton of length to the front of the motor, and as it got added to the mix AFTER we positioned the motor, we had no choice but to run two double pass rads in parrallel, allowing us to angle them to fit them into the nose. Also up front is a charge air cooler, air to water core for the charge cooler, Snow meth injection components and tank, coolant surge tank, air box, a/c core, oil cooler etc etc. and all the plumbing!
It does have a long nose. I will post a build thread closer to reveal date.
We put alot of detail into this one. Hope you guys like it when you see it later!

Out do Bad Penny? Impossible. On any level. I ran a across a bunch of Bad Penny trading cards in the shop the other day. Yes, there is such a thing. I laughed. You know what is even funnier, I bet if I made an add in the for sale section I actually sell them. I would probably even get more money from them than for selling my used parts.

Well Rod, if you're looking to start another collection, let me tell you, a Bad Penny trading card would make a great centerpiece for anyone's collection. I usually sell them for $20 each, but if you call in the next half hour I'll give you the Lat G pricing of just $10 and I'll even throw in one of my cards for free. That is $20 value for just $10. Hurry Bad Penny trading cards are rare and probably won't ever be produced again. Limit one per customer. :D

Going to SEMA? If so be sure to stop by and see "The Professor" at the Mothers Polish Booth. This beautiful 1971 Chevrolet Camaro features a Mast Motorsports headed 500ci engine, built by Warren Johnson Racing. Roger Burman of Lakeside Rods and Rides did a tremendous job putting this amazing second gen together. The lucky owners, Dave and Karen Leisinger, also own the beautiful '70 Camaro we featured from Goodguys a few weeks back. They definitely have good taste!

As a Mustang enthusiast who fabricates my own scratch built (more or less) cars, I've seen a lot of Mustang interpretations and about once a year I find a car that actually still excites me. Last year I went gaga over the Mach 40 and it and the Ring Bros are what finally inspired me to wide body my own car,
Anyway, this car is really wow-ing me, very excited to see the rest of it - its really turning my crank in this photo -

I am really looking forward to seeing this car.

I haven't seen the official pictures yet but I saw a parking lot picture of the Mustang I posed above and its okay but doesn't live up to the rendering, didn't really excite me after all.
But HOT DAMN a wide body CF Mustang body ?????????????????????
Its like my 15 year dream come true (although I would much prefer a '67-68).
Talk about raising the bar- how long until we see this for other cars ?
To be honest it kind of takes the wind out of my sails as I know I will never be able to reach that level.
Any guess on what it costs ? My total ballpark guess is $48k, but it wouldn't surprise me if its a lot more than that (but $30k wouldn't surprise me either).
Someday I will make it big and commission them to build a widebody '67 CF body for me.

Not liking the RB Pantera as much as I thought I would. Engine bay looks great but annoyed that its not a Ford engine (how about a Clevor based full EFI deal ?). I guess I've never liked yellow cars and the interior is - well momma said if you don't have anything nice to say....
OTOH I love the interior (and the rest) of the Strope Camaro. I've seen that fully digital but analog appearance dash panel before on a member's build, anyone know who makes that ?

Preston, I hear you on the yellow but I read somewhere it was the only stipulation the widow of the owner gave the boys, it had to be yellow. I sure in person it will be something to behold. I will let you know when I get up there tomorrow.

When I first saw the build pictures of double down of course I dug it, but it was still very unfinished. Now that I've seen the pictures on the floor, I'm very impressed by the design. REally, really like this vehicle - Boss 9 and AWD in a period correct looking hot rod ? I'm not really a street rod fan all that much, but I do like the ones that maintain a vintage style and this is truly an amazing execution of style/vision as well as a fabricators dream. I love the quick change poking out the front complete with bolt on nerf bar.
Bravo !! I say - hope it works as well as it looks.
Anyone know if the Denali transfer case is considered full time AWD or a normal 4*4 transfer case ? I always wondered how straight up 4wd would work in a performance (corner turning) situation.
Also I realized the Strope Camaro dash is a fabricated plate with normal mechanisms driving the needle, not a digital face. Its funny, I have a picture of the car from SEMA last year where the dash is just fabricated metal and even then I loved it, I kept looking at that picture all year. Glad to see this is one case where the final product wasn't a hair disappointing in the flesh.
Does anyone else have that problem ? I LOVE builds, and seeing a car in fabrication. Sometimes I get so excited by certain builds, but then later when they are all assembled and painted, they somehow slightly disappoint me. Not all - for example the Poteet Torino forced me to the fainting couch in all metal, but its actually more spectacular in paint, but I would say in about half the cases I prefer seeing the car in half finished in metal than I do all buttoned up.

That car is truly amazing !! I stopped at Tyler’s shop when they first started working on it and was wondering how they could pull this off. Well by the looks of it the build is incredible, it’s great to see such outside of the box thinking coming out a this shop.
This is a great build Tyler, I would dare say that is most likely the most significant car that has been built in the Province.
