We've all seen it- folks trying to stuff a T-56 into their muscle cars, and the trans tunnel hack jobs that often result. Granted, some tunnel mods come out looking nice, but then you have to get custom carpet made and often have taller and bulkier tunnels to match a custom center console to.

We ran into this earlier this year with Jason's 69 Camaro build. He was on a set budget and didn't want to drop the coin to totally rebuild the tunnel, so we developed this simple and easy to install alternative. Now they're finally through production and ready for purchase!

Our tunnel covers require a relatively small hole in the trans tunnel and will fit under most consoles. They are made of 16 gauge steel and are laser cut, computer controlled bent, and TIG welded for a clean look, superior fit and great strength. We've tried to make them look cool so you can even run them on top of the carpet with no cover over them for the street fighter look. They also work great for aftermarket automatic shifters where you need a flat surface to mount on.

No more paying for hours of labor for a bulky custom tunnel built on equipment you don't have, these can be installed ready to go in about an hour or two with simple tools right in your own garage. You got it man. Tack it down with some sheet metal screws and later on you have access to the top of your trans in just minutes!

A factory console will fit over it with some slight mods to the bottom of the console. Custom consoles usually fit too. Here's a shot of Jason's interior after it was reassembled.

We haven't got any others with the cover exposed, we've only installed it under consoles so far. I plan on putting one exposed in my g-body wagon soon, I'll post up when I do.

What about installing it as a push thru? From under the car? You would then be able to weld it in place and underneath it would be nice and smooth. Weld another seam where it overlaps up top and bammmm its done. You would have some slight overlap but wouldnt that work also? How much clearance do you feel this gives you?

More or less Camaro Specific or tested on for clearances? I realize it may be a good starting point for others also. Just wondering what vehicles it is basically plug and play on?

Thanks, Wes

I had a leaking shifter, wouldn't have been happy if I had to drop the trans to change it out.

This is hot rodding so it certainly could be used in other applications but "Specifically" it was made to fit the First Gen Camaro. it will work with LS SB and BB but the shifter hole is in a different location that is why we elected to NOT include the shifter hole, we could have if we knew everyone was going to use our motor mounts, trans X member but that is not the case.
