View Full Version : Shop cost for LS conversion
Looking to get an idea of the cost and find a shop to do a LS conversion on a fresh build 69 camaro. I m looking at labor cost primarily as I would supply new crate engine and harness, headers, etc. Not opposed to traveling to a shop to deliver the car, ideally somewhere in the west as I live in New Mexico. Car has zero miles and is currently BB with TKO 600. Would like to retain the TKO to save on cost. Just looking to make the car more user friendly and elevation friendly as i live at 6000 ft.
Thanks

If you had absolutely everything for it labor at my shop is 33 hours. Tuning is $275 alt adjusted.
We use a local dyno tuner not in house.

Have you considered an EFI converion on your BB? Chris's car is a good example of a nicely done BB EFI. I'm sure he would share some insight into the dos. don'ts and cost of going that route. Check out his thread.

I knew being near four corners would work out for you . : )
Thanks guys. The car is supposed to be done with interior in the next week or two and that was the last job before fine tuning etc. I'm also considering fi for the bb and wanted to get an idea of cost so I can make an educated decision. The bb made 628 hp 612 tq and looking to go down to 500 or so ls so that my wife and teen boys can also drive the car. When I'm a passenger of course, lol. I have a 67 bb car I bought from this site a few years ago so I am thinking ls this time.

Seems to me your teen boys might like to drive something with 628HP:hairpullout:
