Hey Everyone,

I've been kind of lurking around here and posting, but I figured I should contribute something and show what I've been working on.

1967 Nova that I've owned for 15 years or so. This car was originally restored in about 2000-2001. With some mechanical issues and other randomness, I never really finished this car. Now I'm pulling it out, dusting it off and finally fixing it up. I had it out on Sunday and its a dog! Stock suspension left a ton to be desired. I'm planning on doing a Church Boys Racing front end on it and a bunch of other upgrades to bring this thing to current.

The car will be at this years SEMA, so yes, in almost 2 months. I'll be at the Lat-G dinner as well!

Here's a quick rendering of the car, I'm trying to get it to this level:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/Bad66Chevelle454/code-Nova_zpsf39170e4.jpg (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Bad66Chevelle454/media/code-Nova_zpsf39170e4.jpg.html)

The car is already painted, so that's a huge help. I'll post up some more pictures soon showing what I'm up to and progress.

Won't be in a booth unfortunately. It will be outside as a featured vehicle. I'll be sure to post up where its at!

I have been a little bit lol.

This has been a bit of a last minute decision to take the car. We decided it would be a cool way to help promote and such. Now time to do burn the midnight oil getting it ready!

I'll have lots of time to work on it between my full time job, part time job, a 20 month old son, 1 month old son, and everything else!

Here's a picture of how it sits right now....and this picture was taken about 8 years ago! You can see my Chevelle in the background, back when it was blue!

Made a tiny bit of progress on the car last night.

Back story:
About 10 years ago a Tuned Port Injected 350 was installed into the car because those motors were all the rage. Its runs good, but has always had some weird fuel starvation issues. After messing with it time and and time again, I decided it was ready for an upgrade. I noticed that Tanks Inc now makes a 66/67 Nova fuel injection tank, so that's what I ordered up. I'm hoping that this fixes the fuel starvation issues.

Here's some pictures of assembly. I have to say I'm really impressed right off the bat. Nice powder coated tank, Made in the USA fuel pump, and really nice directions. From the time I opened the box to the time everything was installed in the tank was about an hour. Tonight I'll work on bolting it up.

Out of the box:

The baffled area inside the tank:

And final assembly:

I'm anxious to see if this fixes my problems, but I'm sure it will. The old set up consisted of a hacked up stock tank.

Where are you located? I'm just curious if the "C510" has anything to do with area codes in California (Bay area?)

The rendering looks great. good luck!:bigun2:

Good assumption...but actually Code 510 is the police radio codes for Excessive Speeding/Racing Vehicles. :)

Nice build. You will love the CBR suspension upgrades. Quality parts that will yield a huge improvement.

I too have a new "tanks" tank in my Nova as well. Installed it early in the summer. I've got about 6K miles on it and love it. I've drained the tank dry with no issues. I'm running a TBI setup. Eventually will go LS, and this tank will make it easier.

Awesome! Good to hear feedback on both items. Chuck Church is definitely a wealth of knowledge and pretty impressive the stuff he's come up with. He told me once I get his whole set up on the front of this Nova, it will out handle my Chevelle that has all the goodies bolted on it. I'm anxious to find out, since right now it handles like a wooden canoe!

Also good to hear about the Tanks gas tank. In a few hours I'm going to bolt that in and get it going. I just had to get a couple of fittings.

Small update from the weekend:

I got the "Tanks Inc" gas tank installed. Fit like a champ! I was happy that I didn't have to massage, dent, grind, weld, or anything else to make the tank fit. There is about 3/8" to 1/2" of room above the fittings before the trunk floor. Not really enough to get a wrench in there, but enough that no rubbing will happen.

Drove the car around for about 20 minutes and it was perfect! This pump is much quieter than the old set up as well. The fuel gauge was spot on too, so at least now I know when I'll run out of gas.

Got a small shipment in this morning as well. A new set of shoes!! Continental tires.

Here's the current rim/tire set up from the early 90's...so we are definitely looking forward to the update!

The rendering is a 66, ours is a 67. We just used an image that we had, not one of the actual car. Sharp eye though!

SEMA is getting close!!! And I'm still waiting on parts to show up. I did make some progress yesterday though.

I opted for a set of Spyder headlights. I felt this will help tone down all the chrome on the front end.

Here's the car as it sits! Still have to do the front end, gauges, and vinyl wrap. I guess its not SEMA unless you're crunching to finish!

Here's some updates! SEMA is only a few days away. Getting very close!

Had some boxes show up on Friday:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/Bad66Chevelle454/IMG_1902_zps0cc2324c.jpg (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Bad66Chevelle454/media/IMG_1902_zps0cc2324c.jpg.html)

Unpackaged goodness:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/Bad66Chevelle454/IMG_1903_zps5ccdb1be.jpg (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Bad66Chevelle454/media/IMG_1903_zps5ccdb1be.jpg.html)

This a complete Church Boys Racing Rack and Pinion front end. Talking with Church Boys he said this will make this sloppy Nova handle better than my Chevelle.

Rear arm and front brace installed:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/Bad66Chevelle454/IMG_1905_zps5ea15a4b.jpg (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Bad66Chevelle454/media/IMG_1905_zps5ea15a4b.jpg.html)

Upper control arm:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/Bad66Chevelle454/IMG_1907_zps826a7862.jpg (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Bad66Chevelle454/media/IMG_1907_zps826a7862.jpg.html)

Look at how nice and thick the upper control arm cross shaft is, a quality piece indeed:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/Bad66Chevelle454/IMG_1908_zps0d9fc58b.jpg (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Bad66Chevelle454/media/IMG_1908_zps0d9fc58b.jpg.html)

We went with Viking Performance Dual Adjustable coil-overs. These are amazingly nice pieces. The ones on my Chevelle work incredible, I can't imagine a car without them:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/Bad66Chevelle454/IMG_1919_zpscef73f99.jpg (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Bad66Chevelle454/media/IMG_1919_zpscef73f99.jpg.html)

I got the rack and pinion bolted up, but I have to make some modifications to make it fit:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/Bad66Chevelle454/IMG_1922_zpse1ea30fc.jpg (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Bad66Chevelle454/media/IMG_1922_zpse1ea30fc.jpg.html)
These Nova's are front sump, rear steer. Now its going to be front steer with the R&P. Well the engine has an aftermarket deep front sump oil pan for the engine which didn't work with the R&P, but a factory pan would. So I'm in the process of notching it to fit.

Very nice so far. this looks like a great way to take an older restoration/hot rod to the next level and bring it up to current car culture.

:gitrdun: Getting close to SEMA!

Thanks! I'm anxious to get the car back on the road and see how she does. Last time I drove it with all the stock suspension it felt like a wagon without horses.

SEMA is still 12 days away. Plenty of time! :hitaxeonthehead:

Got more done on the car last night.

We had to get a set of the Dakota Digital VHX gauges. I absolutely love them and wouldn't have it any other way. We opted for the Carbon Fiber and Blue set up:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t43/Bad66Chevelle454/null_zpsa541bda4.jpg (http://s157.photobucket.com/user/Bad66Chevelle454/media/null_zpsa541bda4.jpg.html)

Here they are installed into the dash:

The other thing I did last night that you can see in pictures was install an Undercover Innovations cover panel. Again, this is one of those truly "bolt in" quality products. Aircraft grade aluminum, anodized, and engraved for us.
