Another one of my random conversation starters, but I had this thought pop into my head last night.

Which would you be more likely to shop for online:

1. Stuff you need for your next oil change / maintenance period - oil, air/oil filters, drain pans, rags, car care products etc.

or

2. Stuff you need to repair your car (or stuff to bring to a shop to repair) - water pumps, gaskets, mufflers, relays, body panels, glass, etc.

I'm just curious what other people do only because I had to get a rear quarter for my wagon and realized I can't go local for it. Then I realized I really don't like going to autozone or napa for stupid stuff like oil and filters either when I can just get it shipped to me from online for the same price. Just wondering what ya'll do.

For these things have you ever considered shopping online AMSOIL's website?

Heres a link to the offer I have for Lat G members http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=40258

I only buy items online that I can't get locally. NOS Quarter panels, etc. Actually, I might call them up and visit their store in that city. I did this in the past for all my NOS sheet metal. I want to look at the item, before I buy it.

Really, there is no reason to buy an item online if the cost is the same as local. There is lot of small business that are going broke, because they can't compete with large online retail stores like Amazon. So, Congress is planning to change that soon. There is a bill in congress that will start charging sales tax online, so it will help small businesses locally.
