I thought I'd post some pics of my dad's 1970 Boss 429 Mustang we just finished.. My dad has owned this car for about 12 years and we finally got around to getting it all done (needless to say my Pro Touring 67 Fastback took a major back seat to get it done) I know its not a pro touring build, but I'd thought I'd share it anyways!

Its all original vin stamped drive train! Lots of research went into this and we were very fortunate to have Boss 9 guru help us with lots of the small details!

Sorry for the iphone pics, I've got to downsize the good pics!

Not very much at all!

Definitely a muscle car!

Only nit-pick I have is the white zip ties on strut braces unless they were factory at least use black!!! They stand out like pimples on a supermodel's behind. :D

Nice car!

My favorite color too! Car looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

The Boss Mustangs are the reason I'll build one some day. A neighbor to a friend growing up had a Boss 302 in hugger orange. He sent it out to have a full correct resto done on the car. Once it came back I remember being in the garage looking it over with the owner. That was the first time I heard a solid lifter engine run. Then he tells me the redline on the engine and I'm in heaven. Needless to say, it had a huge impact on me. I won't pro-tour a real Boss but I'll clone one one day. Solid lifter engine with flat black and orange and the window louvers. It just wouldn't be right without the louvers!

Nice car!

Believe it or not, they actually were white! They were a special panduit strap, not very easy to find! Building the car was the easy part, all the little detail not so much :bang:

Based on the attention to detail I had a feeling they might have been white! :sieg:

Congrats again on a very nice car.

There might have been faster cars, better handling cars, whatever...but those cars are just SO bad ass that nothing compares....
I was fortunate enough to drive one once, in my early 20's, and I still remember it vividly!

They are definitely a different beast, unique hot rod type sound, but much different revving than a 428 CJ motor that's for sure

Nice job - definitely cool cars. I had a 70 Calypso Coral Grabber Sportsroof that literally looked exactly like the one in the Mustang Recognition guide when I bought it when I was 18 yrs old in '89, right down to the hubcaps. I sold it 8 years later to go back to college and pretty much wanted to get another 70 by the next day.

Looks like a Cal Coral Boss 302 on the lift behind it as well...

Thanks! Good eyes:confused59: Its the matching car to the boss 9, but a rare W Code with 4.30 gears and the oil cooler... probably a year or two before we get to that one!

Boss motors are so cool! And Im not really a Ford guy. But I like them all. Including the AMC's! :D
