Hey thank you Rod for the kind words...not anything someone would do for a friend...and Dave & Mary are some of the nicest peeps anyone could call friends...anyone who knows them knows that.

Anyhow's...awesome day today,Dave got re-acquainted with the car in short order with a strong 20 minute session that not only bedded the brake pads but produced 7k bursts...and came back clean and dry...really not much more one could ask for after a 5 year absence.

Tired right now but please follow along here for the complete start-to-finish story along with the latest updates:

That's just the coolest thing ever John --- You've heard me say it before -- the cars are just the part that gets people together --- so it's perfect that you were there to help Mary and David! They're great folks! Lucky you!

That little Lola has to stir the soul for sure!

Did you see the event being filmed for TV?

I'm guessing with the demise of SPEED, it won't make it to TV.

4 full 20 minutes blasts were no problem for a Pozzi race-prepped piece that hadn't been run in 5 years...what's that tell you?

Tired now but will leave you with one last shot tonight of Dave on the grid early this morning...FULL update to follow:

I'm in love.

The lines on these cars -- and that motor midship - and the stacks... It's so "my era".

I'm going to have to cozy up to Mary and David MUCH more so he'll let me see it just once!

Congratulations David! What an accomplishment! That had to be an incredible feeling! :Tomcat: I caught the very end of it, but searched and found a replay for tonight! Yes!
From the little I saw it looked really cool. I bet it's fantastic in person! Definitely added being there in person to the bucket list!

But it was great in person. You won't regret it Karl. One can spend days just walking the pits and not get bored.

My race had most of it yellow flagged due to a silver McLaren spinning. It took the rest of the race to tow him away so we didn't get much coverage. But they did a feature on the driver of the red car ahead of me. & I think used footage of our morning race. He is 81 years old, raced in the first Pebble Beach race in 1953, 60 years later this was his last race! He drove great.
