recovering/fixing recaro seats

I'm working on trying to find new to me seats for my TA. I'm wondering, if I end up getting a pair of Recaro seats from like a 2nd gen for instance and they need to be rebuilt/recovered how hard will it be to recover them or put new foam in them? I'm talking OEM style Recaros like the ones available in 2nd and 3rd gen TA's. I'm not referring to their aftermarket race seats. I just want to make sure they can be fixed if I find a pair. I'd be going with custom coverings not Recaro replacements.

Also, anyone have a suggestion for vehicles that you feel have decent manual cloth seats? I realize seats are one of those items that require you to try out before you know if they are comfortable but I'm not even sure what vehicles to consider looking at. I figure it will be best to stick to OEM seats for many different reasons.

Trey be careful of JJ. He does great work at fair prices but his customer service gets a D-, has every excuse in the book and most everyone I know has had a bad experience.

Thanks Ron. At this point, I'm simply looking for information before I spend my money on something that can't be fixed. The main reason I'm even looking at Recaros is simply because of the fact that they came in 2nd and 3rd gen cars and are manual seats. I'm a little worried about getting a seat that's a real pain to make fit into my TA. It would be nice if I had some quality salvage yards near by but nope.

Those old Recaros are some of the most comfortable seats I have sat in for an aftermarket seat and they are making bolsters for them over in England still. A buddy of mine had these recovered locally with a little bolster work, they are the trophy version from a VW.

Thanks guys. I'll keep my eyes open and see what I can find. I like the looks and going with classic performance seats just sounds like a cool idea. I personally don't need fancy seats that do everything. I just want something comfortable than will help hold me in place and have more adjustments than my factory seats.
