Agreed! I've learned a lot from everyone here. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading Ron's posts. He's help me confirm a lot of what I knew, or thought I knew I should say, and has helped steer my build in a good direction without me even having to ask any questions. To me, that's education and not just information. So thank you Ron and everyone else. You guys make this forum my number 1 stop.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
I came from the racing world into the PT world & I'm having fun helping guys.
The Moderators & I worked out a plan to start some suspension tuning threads where everyone can chime in or ask questions. I should get them started later this week.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ron on the other site and inviting him over here. His time and patience with all my inane questions has been invaluable. I'll post up a bit of that Q&A shortly.
Thanks very much Ron. I can't express how much I appreciate your help

Ron
Your willingness to share what you've learned through decades of racing and thousands of hours of building, testing, tuning and racing is a huge benefit to everyone here.
Everyone on this site adds something to the community but you are doing more than your share at this point.

Vince ... I AM Ray Kaufman. :secret:
Well, not really. I don't really know who Ray is, but I think our paths might have crossed crossed back in 2000-2008.
I saw photos he posted on PT.com of him running a Super Modified at Madera Speedway. When I wasn't racing, I'd go hang with my friends Troy Regier & Louie Gennuso with Biswell Motorsports that ran Super Modifieds in that same series.
At the end of 2003 Dave Biswell figured he'd won enough & spent enough money that he closed the team, and Louie went to work for me on my 4-car Midget team in 2004.
From 2004 to 2008, we ran a lot of USAC Midget races at the same venues as the Supers.
So if I haven't met Ray, we for sure have some friends in common. It's funny now big the world of cars & racing is and how small the community is.
Vince, I look forward to meeting you at an event.

Ron,
Feel free to post up more Super Mod pornography, those are my kind of nasty. :unibrow:

These cars are bad ass & I love them too. When people say "purpose built" ... I think Super Modified, because they're the fastest thing on 1 mile & smaller ovals.
That's a photo of Dave Biswell's car that Louie Gennus Crew Chiefed & Troy Regier drove. They were a powerful combination, winning a lot of races & championships a decade ago. The series is dying today, but it used to be a helluva show to watch.
When people ask what a Super Modified is, I say, "Envision an Indy Car & a Sprint Car blended together."

........that oozes testosterone all over the shop floor.
Sad to see the series dying, could they be a big hit in a historic series of sorts?

I don't know. Frankly, 95% of the West Coast cars are on older chassis because the series is weak. They just don't have enough racer involvement to field enough cars at events.

In the past few years, I have gained quite a bit of knowledge and made a few good friends because of this forum. Lately, I have been reading most of the posts by a fairly new member named Ron Sutton. I have been fascinated with his knowledge and the way he takes time to explain things. It's like he goes out of his way to make sure someone without his credentials and experience can understand.
I have never met him nor do I have any knowledge of who he is, but I did want to give him props for what he has added to this forum. If you haven't read any of his posts, you should look him up by his screen name Ron Sutton. This sounds like a cheesy post but I did not want to jack another thread where he as posted.
Well said Greg. Truly a great assett to this site. Thanks again Ron

Ron,
I can see you're an organized person. Likely that was a key to your success until... uh... well, you know, that little habit of 'smoothing out troublemakers' kicked in...
