Never really looked at one, but they are neat looking cars. This one was red with a 6.0 motor, I like it, plus it's a Pontiac! :)

I had forgotten about SLP using the Firehawk name on the G8's. Ed Hamburger ticked off so many Firebird people when they announced that decision, but like he said, it's his name, his company, and he'll do as he pleases.
They look good though, that's for sure.

I have an 09 in white. I love it for a daily. I am hoping for a brake upgrade as they are a little lacking stock.

Wow. Where is that Marty?
This is the gentlemens collection that purchased Syborg from me. He is slowly shrinking his collection from 500 cars to about 100. So I am pretty certain that these are all 4-Sale and yes one of those yellow Bumblebee's is actually parked in my garage.
ps SLP made 50 Firehawk G8's and I think John bought all of them.

The new SS is a higher spec'd car than the G8 was, it has Brembo brakes, staggered wheels, all the bells & whistles. It is referred to as Redline SSV here.
Here is a link to the ute (pick up) version lapping Nurburgring, in a sub 8.20 min

This is with 6.0 litre, the US is getting the 6.2 LS3

The USA SS is based on the new Gen V LT 6.2 engine, it is going to be awhile before they can modify it. http://www.chevrolet.com/ss-sports-sedan.html#Performance I was talking to Brian Thomson of (Thomson Automotive) about that Gen V engines, and GM has designed it so it be harder to modify.

My understanding is Gen IV this series, Gen V is rumoured for next series after it has been released in Corvette

The forums and the magazines report that is Gen IV, so if they are right about it. SS is supposed to limited edition, so it is probably going to use Gen IV.

Here is mine before I plasti-dipped the wheels. I put an aftermarket intake on it and it came with a j-pipe exhaust. I am not sure, but it seems to have a lope in it. Wonder if the previous owner cammed it. It felt a good bit stronger than the other two I test drove. I think the SS is going to look nice, but I picked this G8 up for a bargain used. http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz302/srh3trinity/20130516_194548_zpsa55566bf.jpg (http://s838.photobucket.com/user/srh3trinity/media/20130516_194548_zpsa55566bf.jpg.html)
After the wheels were plasti-dipped. Should be temporary as I plan on a CTS-v caliper swap and mesh wheels. http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz302/srh3trinity/20130703_125424_zps969c1fb2.jpg (http://s838.photobucket.com/user/srh3trinity/media/20130703_125424_zps969c1fb2.jpg.html)

I'm planning on getting a G8 GT or GXP after I graduate from the police academy in Dec. Then it'll be time to start importing body parts from Australia...
