Hey guys I recently came across a set of 2010 camaro rotors and calipers that I intend to use on my gen 1 f body. After some research I discovered flynbye.com and got some good insight on what my options were. I can run the brembos all around but I will not have a parking brake, seeing that my car is a manual right now that wont work. My next option according to flynbye was to use the brembos in the front and use ls brakes in the rear. My car is a 69 camaro and currently has disc front and drum rear, both are stock set ups. I guess my question is can I run the 4 piston brembos in the front and use the ls style one pistons in the rear without any issues because of the differences in pressure, how will my offset change, and Do I need some type of bracket for the rear or do they just bolt on? I looked in the brake threads and didnt see any info on this, ls1tech had some info but none on brake conversions for a gen 1 f body. I appreciate any and all insite guys, thanks in advance.

This has been covered before, the 5th gen brembos will not work. I don't remember but something about where they are positioned you will end up having to use a 22 inch wheel or something like that???

As Aaron said call Tobin he can set you up with what you need!!

I contacted Tobin previously, he says that the mods they have are in prototype stages at this point and not for sale. I know this mod can be done because I saw it on a g body car. I am not sure the difference in the cars but I am pretty sure it can be done. I may have to wait but I am pretty sure someone has done it with a gen 1 f body.

Rick I checked out the links, the pro touring.com thread appears to be the most promising. I checked out the other threads and they really didnt have much info. I am going to really look at the tread in hopes I find what I am looking for.

The pro touring thread was helpful but not really many details on gen 1 mods. I may join to ask the guy who headlined the thread some questions. I think I will use the front bracket from flynbye and and try to get the rear brackets from the thread that was fabricated. The e brake still seems to be an issue but hopefully someone figures it out soon. I think the ls style 98-02 brakes will work well tho.

I'd sell those brembos on Craigslist and buy some C5/C6 front calipers from Kore 3 that will fit perfectly on your stock spindals. I ran a C5 pbr caliper on my car for years. It was more than enough brake for such a light car.

How much will c5 brake parts cost me? What all do I need to buy? I want the brembos and flynbye says they can work now. this is a tough decision.

Would this work on a 69 and what do you want for them ?
