I started this build about 4 years ago. I took it to a shop to get the subframe and IRS installed it stayed there 2 years and only got the front sub-frame in. I finally went and got it and i'm putting the IRS in myself with the help of a friend and doing all the other work. I was hoping to be much further a long than I am but things just hasn't worked out that way. I have learned a lot from watching rons's amx build and reading on the forum. I wished I would have done a few things different but this is my first time building a car like this and cant wait till it's running I just wished I had more time to work on it.

Nice to see another AMX! Did they make the front clip or did you buy it from somewhere?

Thanks It did have some rust on the lower side of radiator support and where the battery was. That was the only major rust on the car.

It is a art morrison clip, I went with their narrow version because I was worried about the standard corvette width being to wide, I think it would have been fine though and wished I would have went with the wider track width that they offer. It's to late now though

Just means you gotta find wider front tires. Not a bad problem to have.

I've made some more progress in the past year. Having the car at my house has helped with having time to work on it. I decided to use GTO interior in it and I cut out the firewall and floor pan and will be using the GTO firewall and floor pan so everything will bolt back in. I should have done this before putting the subframe in but did not plan on the gto interior. I did find some rust in the rockers that was covered up with bondo.

Very cool build!

AMX with GTO parts? I assume you're familiar with this:

looks like a great formula for success :)

I have to say this. While I greatly admire the work and fab skills it took for that build, the end result is fugly and doubt is handles very well just based on where it's center of gravity is. It looks more like he transplanted a Jeep Wrangler suspension under it to go off road, not to the track. Also, the front and rear track from the GTO look too wide for the AMX and probably part of the reason he can't even lower it. Sorry, just not right.

I have seen that amx before. It was a while back and there wasn't near as many pictures of it posted then. I agree it is sitting up way to high. I did notice a few things i could have improved on putting the floor pan in that they done.
Ron has the coolest amx I've seen. I wished I had the skills to do half of what he does.

Cool, and that was why I posted it. Reference... whether good, bad, or indifferent.
