I have been researching the lowering of the ridetech g bar rear end using shorter coil springs .I have found a couple of threads where guys are using 8" springs and 200lbs rates.. Is that too short to get the rear of my 69 down? Ridetech have said they use a 12" spring length with 200lbs rate.

so maybe a 10inch spring length? Has anyone achieved the desired result doing it this way? My car is street driven only.
I know this is not the best way to make this happen but it beats cutting the floor or changing 4 links.

thanx, Gav

EDIT****I should have asked earlier. . .Is this a Ridetech AirBar, or a Chassisworks G-Bar? There is a difference.
If it's a Ridetech 4-link we'll get you covered.
If it's a CW part, I'm sure Carl or someone will jump in and help.

Can you get us some pics of the car at ride height, and pics of the coil overs at ride height.
You should not have to lower the car. If you do you may run into an issue where the car "bottoms out" as the suspension does not have enough travel.

We have adjustments built into the lower shock mounts. . .do you have them as low as they will go?

ok i been away for a while... i have no pics of my car at ride height as im in the middle of the install..Previously my car was very low in the rear with my wheels 'tucked' up under the rear. I have seen a ton of cars now with the install and none are low enuf (mines a ridetech unit) so im thinking of a 10 inch coil on the coilovers , and go up to a 225lbs spring rate.. Ive noticed also the diff cover is very close to the cross brace under there (maybe 1.5"). Does anyone sell a slimmer 12 bolt cover , im sure ive seen them somewhere?
anyone else had issues with dropping the rear with the ridetech unit on a 69 camaro?
