I have been helping my buddy get his car going. Story goes the starter went out, and the owner parked the car in the back of a field since 1993.

I traced power all the way back to the starter, all looked good.. Pulled said starter, full of hammer marks lol.

A couple weeks later he had a new solenoid installed, and it works fine now.

Poured in some fresh gas and off we go!

I have heard they are really Nice to drive, and that Porsche quality is really good. Some of the best!

They have a bit "special" look, the Strosek editions/bodykit are really good looking I think. But they did not come before the facelift i think. I have seen older Stroseks also though. They have reeally wide rear tires :D

That looks bada** man. It really does drive nice! When its driving.... lol

Got her all washed up! We ran into a couple issues. First of all, it kept dying. I checked the fuel pump relay (which happened to be VERY hot). Unplugged it, cleaned it... Push it back in and it drove fine.

SECOND. The windows wouldn't roll down. You can imagine how good that smelled.

Power window relay clicks when you key on... So far so good. But, the issue turns out to be the switches themselves. I popped them both loose as you can see in the last picture.

They work fine when you squeeze the wires to the bottom of the switch lol...

Fulled up the empty power steering reservoir....

The during a spirited freeway blast.... He lost all gears except fourth.

I suspected he broke the linkage somewhere. Started looking where I could with no tools in the center counsel to no avail. Porsche nuts confirmed that this is a very common problem when he posted on his forum.

Next monday I'll be fixing that for him too lol.... At least he bought my a PBR tall boy for the ride home.

Video to follow in a week or so of the problems and DOUGHNUTS....

You'd think that after 20 years, the field mice would have left no insulation on any of the wires in this car. Nice find.

There was a family of chipmunks in the exhaust.

The top of the fuel tank had TONS of dog food on it. (Fuel pump access was open).

Both rear floor mats were covered in pee and poo.

The engine bay had LOTS of hay in it. I'm surprised it didn't catch fire lol...

Cool story! I wouldn't mind tinkering with an older European car like that at some point. I know they can be a pain to work on but that's part of the fun sometimes. Good luck!
