Tuff day today I went to my cardiologist and got a good review. So I go home and call my 36 yr old daughter who is 37 weeks pregnant . This is her forth try to have a baby , it never worked out before. Call no answer so I text her she always answers .... Nothing. Starting to worry . Fifteen minutes later get a call from her best friend seem no one can get her. On top of being a critical pregnancy she has Juvenile diabetes, /which they cant control because of the pregnancy.
When her friend gets to the door my 4 year old grand daughter is telling the friend mommy's in bed. They tell her to go get mommy, she comes back and mommy won't answer her. They ask is she is awake she says yes but no response. They finally get her sister in law to open the door She's in bed out of it no response even though she is awake and blinking her eyes.
They call me and tell me her sugar is 37 which is getting close to comma territory . I say I'm coming give her any kind of juice they have. She won't drink for them. I say I'm leaving now. I get in my truck and drive like a wild man and reach for my phone to call an ambulance . ITS HOME! Now I'm looking for any police officer . None I drive down to Main st. its on the way to her house. I see a patrol car , I'm blowing the horn and hanging out the window . They stop in the middle of the road I pull into oncoming lane (empty ) tell them I need an ambulance to go to my daughter's house . OK what's the address DAHHHHHHHH can't think of it they say we'll follow you . I drive three more blocks and her street is block off for road work. The officers park and walk down I drive down the wrong way . When we get there the new reading is 27 ! ambulance on its way more juice. she will not respond tuff to get juice in her. doesn't answer when asked her name.
Paramedics get there give her glucose IV after three shots of it readings finally 135. This is going on over 1 hour now, I'm soaking wet with nerves. That morning I told my doctor I haven't had chest pain and palpitation's in months. THEY'RE BACK.
We got her to Woman and Infants hospital 25 mile away. finally get reading pretty steady and tomorrow they will go get my grandson !
I feel like ten wild gorilla's kicked the crap out of me.
This has been terrible but hopefully worth it in the end. Its been Sugars low 1/2 hour later it 400 then 35 then bp 150 over 103 then over and over I feel so bad for her. I can't wait until they are both safe. I'm too old for this ****!
Then I remember I'm picking up my sister in law and her aunt from the air port there here to commemorate my nephews passing last year on June 19. They've got flowers I have to mount to the tree where he flipped his car over and him and his girl friend got thrown out He died and She is still in a coma for the last year with no improvement. Yesterday was the day my mother passed away four years ago and was buried on my daughter's birthday. The pregnant one. Tuff month.
Sorry for the rambling.
Wayne

Wayne,

You need a glass of your favorite adult beverage, a cigar and very quiet day! Seriously...no one needs that kind of excitement.

Hang in there man!

Wow your week has gone from insane to joy.

Congratulations to you and your family.

ps Have you daughter look up Joel Fuhrman (Diabetes Dr.) as a friends of mine with diabetes is pretty much off all of his medicine after 45 years. He looks incredible and all of his current doctors are just amazed.

Well here's my little man, I was already talking to him about his first car show. I took his cousin when he was two weeks old.

That a fine looking Portugee! He sure is!

Thanks guy's. They were worried his heat might be inlarged but a sonogram put that to rest. He's fine. Every time I see my daughter looking at him after all the other times things went bad I get a lump in my throat and well up with tears. I've never seen her as happy and at peace.
Thank god for this baby.
When they brought her to the room waiting for her to show signs of being ready The room number was 4310 My wife's family believe in our ancestors caring for us from above. All my kids know their grand father was a Normandy Vet. He was on an LST the number was 310 and his birthday was on March 4 th. So we all took it as a sign that Peppier was looking on.
My youngest used the prayer beads that my father inlaw used when she was pregnant and now my oldest used them so their is a pretty strong connection.
Thanks Rudy !
