Very cool video! Thanks! Our family has a good friend that was a tail gunner in WWII. He doesn't talk much about the war but when he does we're all ears. You can still see the passion in his eyes when he talks about it. He has shared some incredible stories with us. So much respect for the men & women who serve! Something I'm instilling into my kids to respect and honor.

I got a short ride in that plane, it was quite an experience! Kinda scary to climb into that bombardiers seat in the bubble.

Very cool!

My Grandpa (RIP) was a belly gunny in a B-17 in WWII.

When I took my dad out for his first "outing" after his heart transplant a couple weeks ago we went to Moffet Air Field, where they actually had this same B-17 on display. So I went and snapped some pics to share with my Grandma.

here's a couple:

That is awesome Albert, great pics and thank you to your grandpa.

My buddies uncle was a pilot on a B-17 called " Miss-Behavin' ". (not to be confused with "Ain’t Miss Behavin") It was shot down on a bombing run over Meersberg Germany near the Switzerland border in WWII.. :flag2:

Thank you! Unfortunately those were all just from my Cell phone, but pretty decent none the less. Wish Grandpa was still around to talk about it. being kids you dont ask questions about history. He passed away on my 20th birthday. now 13 years ago.

I'm not sure what plane he was on, in fact i just sent a message to my grandma to get me some details so i can see what i can find out it. :)

My buddies uncle's plane and the crew

"Flack took out three of the four engines and he ordered everyone out except the co-pilot and engineer. The three of them went down with the plane".

Great stuff guys, and thank you to all of the Grandpas for their service.

If memory serves more men were killed in the US 8th AF in Europe than Marines in the Japanese theater. Unbelievable.
