I ordered Budnik rims yesterday Teardrop FL 18x8 front & 18x12 rears and the people I ordered from called today and wanted to know what kind of brakes I was going to use and after that the exact part number for the front and rear? Why - does it really make a difference on the rim?

they want to make sure that the wheels will clear the calipers and other brake hardware

Thanks. Hopefully they will take just the brake company name, because I don't think there is a kit number. My plan on the front was to use a 4 piston Dynalite caliper and Superlite caliper bracket so I could run bigger rotor.
That's what's called brake spacing - the room you have from the back of the wheel spokes to the caliper.

just ask the brake company if there brakes require a 1/2 inch monuting pad or larger.

Looks like your question has been answered, but I thought you might like to hear it direct from the horse's mouth.
We ask what type of brakes you are running, and also the part number (if an aftermarket kit) so that when we are building your wheels they first, clear the caliper that you have chosen to run. We do this by building the "pad" on the backside of the wheel to different lengths. When we do this, it allows the spokes of the wheels to come around and not bang into your calipers if they petrude past the mounting surface of your wheel. Being that calipers can be bought, even from the same company, in all different sizes, this information is very important when building a wheel. Secondly, it also tell us the overall diameter of your rotor and caliper when assembled. This allows us to confirm that the inside diameter of the wheel, will clear your overall diameter of your brakes. Being that you purchased Baer brakes, Baer provides, with every kit they sell, a cooresonding "template" number. You can even get this information direct from their website. The templates, which we keep on file here in my office, tell us all the above pieces of information so we build your wheels correctly.
I hope this answers your questions, should you have any further questions, feel free to email us at anytime.
Thank you for choosing Budnik Wheels too!

Jon, thanks for the reply - the question was answered and I gave the info to the dealer I bought the wheels from - which I see you already know.
And yes I'm very impressed you know that I ended up with baer brakes since one of my replies yesterday indicated I was thinking about Wilwoods, but I got a great deal on the baers today from someone else. So when you get around to building my wheels polish them up real nice - okay  THANKS!!!
