Well the last time I got on here regularly I was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS 35th LE and debating selling it for an early 70's camaro. After selling the car I needed a running car and building the 2nd gen wasnt going to be a good idea financially. So....I made an even worse financial decision but damn does it make my right foot happy. I bought a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX SE *deep inhale*. Its full bolt ons, cammed, tuned at 30psi on E85 and makes just shy of 500hp. Not bad from a 2.0L four cylinder.

Well after driving the car for about 6 months as my daily and my toy, and dropping $2500 on a clutch setup (dont ask). I've decided the evo is not for me right now. If I can sell the Evo for what I should be able to and buying a cheapo depot daily I should have about $10k to play with for a project. Im looking into 2nd gen maros/birds or possibly a 70's model 911 with modern guts.

It's going to be a few months before I get hardcore into looking. Im waiting for the right buyer on the Evo and I may end up going ahead and upgrading the snail and trying to get some 10 sec passes out of the stock block with a full weight car. Should be good for 11.4-11.8 as it sits depending on the driver mod.

Planning something similar to this with upgraded brakes/suspension and a newer turbocharged motor. Id like to get a good track car with 500-600whp on kill mode on E85.

It's all money. The only difference is what car the builder feels is worthy of dumping that money into. Thats why I sold my Camaro, it really just didnt flip the switch for me. The Evo does but I've wanted a 911 since I was a little kid.
