I have a couple grommets in my firewall and would like to put a putty like sealer around the wires to help keep the heat out. Would like to use something that I can remove easy and stays pliable. Anybody have any suggestions?

I just bought a box of strip caulk, how willit react to heat? That stuff is really sticky out of the box.

My experience is that it tends to harden in time.

x2 on the 3m strip caulk. it will harden over time, but it takes awhile.

How about butyl tape? Stays soft and plyable.
