Not much technical, but a good rear if you haven't seen it.

I think Charley has said that's his favorite car to drive. That or The Thrasher....can't remember. After reading that tech article on it, all I've got to say is.....thank God for bolt-on parts because there is no way in hell I would have figured any of that out.

It rides great. The ZF 6 spd shifts better than any T56 I have had. Car is 10 years old and getting a facelift. Time seems to be flying. Will get new paint, rebuild the engine with different crank, different intake and throttle body. Same wheels and look. I love that car.

I am glad you said that Charley. It makes me feel better about buying the ZF 6 speed for my 68 Camaro. BTW, what clutch is in the car now or if changing, what will be going back in. I still have not made up my mind about a clutch yet. The Red Witch is my favorite too!

does the ZF have a different bolt pattern than a standard chevy pattern, did it need some type of adapter plate or did it just bolt right up like a t56?

thanks for the reply, what did mark do to fit the zr-1 wheels on there?? did you widen rear end and front track width?? or did he use the vette brakes spacers??
also hot rod said the rears are 17x13, but i kinda doubt that running a 315, are they 17x11, and 17x9.5??? thanks alot

ZF 6 speed uses a standard SBC tranny bolt pattern.

Rears are 17"x11 and fronts are 17"x8 1/2" .

I can't remember. I think he just had the rear made the correct width. I'm not sure on the fronts and the car is not in front of me.

bumper holes?? you mean the bumper bracket holes in the fender extensions??? i believe he welded them solid and bodyworked them, as there is no front bumper on the witch

That's the car that certainly got me rolling in this direction. I think it may be the main car that sent this whole movement into action. Looking back at it now, I see many cars on here that are even better. My, we have come a long way...

Those bumper-slots look atleast partially filled, even on the newer pics. I think the first picture was a magazine shot that apparently befnefitted by some Photoshop.

When I bought the car a few years ago it had a front bumper on it that was added by the previous owner. I removed it . The holes are not partially filled. The Engine was yanked and is at Wheel To Wheel. Mark has the car at his house.

Stielow sold the Red Witch years ago by advertising it in Hemmings. First time I ever talked to him was when I called on the ad. He had already sold it. Maybe a year later it showed up on Ebay. I was high bidder on it for two auctions but it never met reserve. I finally just had to pay the guys price. After I got the car I called Stielow again with questions and we have hated each other since. :lolhit:

I drove it on Power Tour in 2001 and hope to do Power Tour with it in 2006. It is semi apart in Marks garage right now and Mark is out West and busy so it will be awhile before it is back together.

Just updating some. Bigger crank, different intake system, new paint. AC system is R12 so it is time to go to R134 and put a front runner system on. Same color , wheels and stance.
