Again, another incident in where our gubberment failed us.

Actually, it took the author to page 2, to write this statement in quotes below.
"These were uncontrolled environments," said 3VR's Karahashi. "In case of Boston bombing, you have so much raw footage, and they were processing video from cameras that weren't designed to be capturing faces." There were plenty of megapixel surveillance cameras in the mall, stores, and hotels around Copley Square—"but there [were] also a lot of analog and VGA resolution cameras," Karahashi said."

P.S. The US government funds lot of cool technologies that take awhile to mature.

Totally agree with this statement. The fact that there even IS such a thing is a major milestone IMHO.

I do believe though by the time yer ready to install the facial recognition system at the Sun Valley shed it will be a good backup system in case the retinal scanner fails.
