Ok so we were recently figuring out some hood latch ideas for some customer cars, and there have been alot of great ideas and repurposing on some really nice cars lately, but its something that is easily overlooked. We always forget about the hood latch until its staring us in the face (literally) and we wish it could be different. I know some shops probably have their little "secrets" that they like to use, but for those who care to share, lets post some pictures and where to get em!

Now that I say pictures, I will have to go to the other computer, but for now I will start the list.

We all are familiar with the VW style latch from cars like Jackass and Mayhem. There are many versions of this as I have found, from VW to Porsche. I know places like Yogi's, RB's, Hortons, and other street rod places sell the offshore repops. There are some specialty places for VW and Porsche that sell the real ones.

The VW Thing had the beefy hook style safety catch, not the single blade. I will post part numbers.

I would like to see some examples of BMW style latches like what was used on the Innovator by Roadster Shop.

The Z cars and 90's M3 style car had dual versions of the VW style pin and reciever, but some of the other cars like the 328 had the bent square hooks and bearclaw style latches.

What about Corvette Latches? I know they probably dont look as nice.

Legens Hot Rods has a few universal latches.

Any more???
