It is with a heavy heart that I start this thread but seeing as how I am not a member of any other social media I thought I might remember my brother David Avery a US Navy Veteran and fellow hotrodder, David passed this morning in his sleep.
My brother was a generous man who would help anyone in need and then fix their car! He was a loyal blue oval guy and sadly he left his 32 roadster project unfinished. He was telling me a couple weeks ago that he just got his heads back for the 289 and he was so proud of them. His chassis just got detailed and painted and would be mated to the pearl white body (w/ blue flames) .... he was proud of that too.
I can remember his first apt, he had his recently built 351 Cleveland in his living room .... that was the center of attention/ coffee table and mom teased him for his interior decorating style! He put that engine in a 72 Maverick and raced it locally and had a blast with that primed car, it's still sitting in his backyard ... he was proud of that car too.
Fair winds and following seas David .... I will miss teasing you about your Fords.

Condolences.
Be strong, keep moving forward and enjoy your time on earth; that is the best way to honor him.
Every time a gremlin pops up in that Camaro, it's probably him screwing with you.
Michael - Sincere condolences.

Thanks to all who would put pen to paper for someone you have never met, that means a lot to me. I woke up this morning .... so one day at a time.
I should get out and get some therapy on my Camaro here real soon .... that's what David would have wanted!

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. GW really said it well and I could echo so many others as well.
I never had a real brother, but felt pretty close to quite a few over the years... still, I envy the bond and the rivalry you shared. As for the Ford thing, I've learned to accept the fact I am a pretty nondenominational car guy. I love 'em all, just some more than others and like anything in life sometimes there is just something about one or the other that captures our eye, or our heart.
Boy, your parents gave our Country two wonderful Servicemen huh? That's appreciated Chief!
You are right, when you can collect the time, rub some of that grief into that Camaro and carry your Brother in your heart always.
God Bless your family as you mourn his journey home.

Robert ... thank you, my sister is also a Veteran of the US Navy.
If the weather is good I'll go and work on the Camaro and picture David helping.

Michael, sorry to hear about your brother. Sounds like David was a great guy. It will be 2 years this Friday since my brother passed. I know it's difficult. He is watching down on you and remember one day you will see him again. If you can, complete his '32 Roadster in his memory. I have dedicated my '69 Firebird build to my brother (and father). Keep your head up and when you see odd things in your everyday life just remember it's him.
GOD Bless!

My condolences, and I agree with Ron. Your brother will smile down on his finished car. It's what kept his spirits up when he was with us, and what will help keep it alive in the future. It's good therapy too.

Thank you for the condolences .... I'll pass them on. I wished I could finish the 32 but all I have is a one car garage with my camaro and everything else is in here. I think the body shop that did the body and paint work may buy it and finish putting it back together... we'll see.
Thanks again ....
