If there is such thing as a Ford Hipster it would be you. Can't like Eleanor because all those simple car guys who like Chevys like Eleanor nowadays, and that just makes the car uncool. I bet you tell all the Eleanor fans that the original Mach 1 Eleanor is way cooler.

I can't be defined because then I'd fit in a category, and thus be too mainstream. :lmao:

At least Eleanor doesn't resemble a challenger from a distance. On the other hand the build quality is probably better than all of the "nice" Eleanors combined.

Can you blame him? Vintage is where it is at, he is just trying to enlighten those of us that are a little behind the curve. "Steam punk" is all the rage now, so he is probably all over 32 Ford Lakesters at the moment, but he will be on to something else by the time the rest of us start paying attention to them.

Thanks for posting that video. It was awesome. Back in 2000 when Nicholas Cage was in the remake that I watched, at that time I didn't know it was a remake. My dad told me it was a remake. That's when I went back and watched the original. The original was ahead of its time.

I paint this car back in 2006 or 2007. It was originally lime green. We also replace the original 428 with an all aluminum Shelby 427. The 427 was the first Shelby all aluminum dual quad motor to be sold to the general public.

More pictures here if anyone interested. http://www.autobspec.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=10

For those who care, there's a little bit of history on what's going on UNDER the bodywork here: http://www.totalcontrolproducts.com/press/60seconds.html It's not technically an Eleanor replica if it doesn't have TCP components!
:thankyou:

As to Shelby's in general, below is a real deal GT350 (production #18). It's owned by Kevin Sittner. He is one of our dealers and the same guy who now owns our '65 test car. His Shelby has a bunch of bolt-on TCP components including the full front coilover conversion with VariShocks, rack and pinion, leaf springs with VariShock bolt-ins and a TCP torque arm. Kevin is no slouch behind the wheel- he was invited to OUSCI in 2009 and set the second fastest lap on the big track before suffering an engine related mechanical. That was in the first session of the day, on a track he'd never seen.

The attached photo was taken at Thunderhill before Optima in 2009.

Eleanors are timeless. Even after all these years, those cars still look very current and up to date pro-touring rides. I'd love to have one to go along with my 69. Best looking hotrods of all time in my book 69 camaro/67 shelby

The original pic is CSE 034. ITZKirb shoots all of the cars for the L4P.com crowd...he is an amazingly talented photographer. I worked on that car for the second owner a few years back.

Here is another one I've done...

Shelby G.T. 500 E Super Snake SS021 One of 43 built.

It puts down just shy of 800/800 at the wheels with 12 lbs. Smaller pulley hit 15lbs on a part throttle run but it was so violent we slowed the pump down for drivability.... never did see what that pully topped out at. Plus I don't like building stuff on the ragged edge for these clients. Better to live easy and live long... People like driving their cars instead of fixing them all the time.

The Super Snakes were originally built with a carbureted Vortech V2 rated at 725 crank hp from the engine builder. I've done 3 like this with a V7, intercooled, EFI. Completely streetable.

The cars that Revved puts out are built to a much higher level of fit and finish than the movie cars we saw, and much more solidly built than some 'other' companies were putting out for a while.

For example, this is one of the eleven cars built for the movie. Really cool, but not a high-end show car.

Yes all on pump gas. All the cars I build and service are street driven so having them tuned to run on race fuel defeats the purpose of being street drivable.

Thanks for the compliment! I just really focus on making vehicles street drivable and enjoyable for my clients!
