Ok, first off I am not bashing such a beautiful and iconic car. I get why everyone likes them. Gorgeous body, parts are cheap and plentiful, easy to work on, bolt-on hi-performance parts, etc. That and the fact Mr. Stielow is the godfather of hot rodding these things. So, my question is like the '32 highboy and the '57 Chevy...has everything been done to the 69 that we need a new, let's say, car for the next generation? Or am I way off base and there's still some work to do? I'm trying to get psychological on ya'll's asses!!:D
I hear ya. I haven't seen one with a diesel yet....

I do have a few idea that haven't been done yet.(not on my car maybe next one)
There will always be something.
There is no limit in my opinion......as long as it made out of metal. New technologies will continue to evolve and they will continue to be applied.
Your same thought could be applied to new vehicles as well.

lets just hope that these aren't the next in that generation jump from those 3 icons (32, 57 and 69)

As long as you leave the body almost untouched, go for it with all your wild dreams. IMO. Don't out think the room.
The ideas will never end! As long as you have builders like BBT , Roadster Shop, Ring Brothers, etc.... Look at some of the stuff Rogers doing at Ironworks! The car is timeless...

When someone drops a first gen camaro body on an F1 chassis and drive train... it's pretty much over at that point.

Would it truly still be a "muscle car" then? :smiley_smack:

You know I kinda actually like that if the wagon roof line was revised a little.

I have not seen any Camaro's with one of these.
http://www.falconerengines.com/
Falconer V12
Design is based on a small block chevy (check out the side-by-side photo)
All aluminum - weight - 500 lb
Dry sump
up to 600 CID
Carburetor(s) / EFI / Supercharged / Turbo
Somebody put one of these into a C4 Vette though. Two more cylinders than a Viper..........
Check this out, somebody put it in a Mustang. Sounds awesome!!

That would be a P-51 Mustang, the airplane, not the Ford ponycar.

Not a real P-51, but a scaled down kit version. www.thundermustang.com

I don't think the 32 Ford has been fully explored yet. I also think there are a million things that could be done to a 57 chevy. The 69 camaro has just started to get cut up. People have been cutting the heck out of 32 fords for years. The mods people have been doing to streetrods (pre 1948 cars) are just now starting to happen with the 69 camaro. People have been cutting up 57 chevrolets for quite a while. Search the words boydair, that car was one of the first really cut up 57's. When the process that has happened with those early models happen to the 69 we might be getting close to making the ideas that are left available to only the rich guys, cuz it will take some work to raise the bar. I know of a few 69 camaros coming along across the country that will raise the bar when complete.
The only thing that seems to slow down the innovation is the fact people are mass producing some really cool parts now days so no one has to do anything more then just swipe a credit card to get that next level kinda parts.

Interesting topic that is pretty much what I was thinking. One of the most beautiful designs ever to roll but a little too much interest in them now:D When I built mine there was only 1 other in my sleepy little aussie town but there are now 8 of them. I kid you not, at our local car shows there are more 1st gen(especially 69`s) camaro`s then there are our local aussie equivalent(monaro`s). I sold mine recently and am currently awaiting a 53 belair coupe I bought from over there to arrive. It`s bad when your 540 cube 69 camaro is the norm:D

Kirkham made a Shelby Cobra Replica out of copper.
I'm sure nobody did that in a Camaro.

There is no end in sight. For the average builder, it's pretty limited. For those with a blank check and talented builder, picasso can slap some paint on the canvass, like it or not.

Titanium, magnesium, and carbon would suffice.
I think theres a ton of ideas floating around in peoples heads that havent been done, due to it all takes:G-Dub:.
I had some renderings done of a car with some great out of the box designs that we almost did for a guy, but when the reality set in with the real costs involved in pulling something of that magnitude off.... to COMPLETION, we couldn't put a deal together to do it quite to that level. Hopefully some day, but these things take time and money to pull off..... more impotantly to pull off correctly!

That's just an idea i threw out to sort of reinforce that the possibities and ideas are endless regardless of the make or model. But that is something that has been on my mind with all of these sandie hurracaine salvaged vehicles @ "iaai" for now since I'm stuck on my real current build its just a wish list idea. I have bid on a few but no luck.
" yeah stretch it a few inches , use most of interior and all mechanical and hell make it a hatch back ,,, Ahhh all I need is time and :G-Dub: "
