The finish on the Tru Track is glass beaded and then clear annodized.
As for the cas cap it is Killer Customs Design Any body who wants one just give us a call i think the surround alone is about 300.00 i will confirm that if anyone is interested. and the gas cap itself is a shell valley cobra cap
Travis YES it will be done in 3 weeks. there are 5 guys working on it this week

People from pt.com need to see that gas cap. There's guys over there that have been waiting for something like that to be made for what seems to be about 5 years now.

How long do you leave the car sit in metal without paint? Rust issues?
My painter is adamant about not getting my car media blasted until all fab and mock up is done. It is a pain grinding and working in crap!

Mine was in metal for at least a year without issues. Anywhere it was touched got surface rust, but that only took 10 seconds with my stripper disc to make nice again.
If you strip it then work on it more you'll need to revisit the surface again, so why do things twice? Another thing, shiny clean metal in the sun gets to about 180 degrees really fast.

We blast them so the fab work goes faster.
The painter can just deal with it!!! if you was the car with metal prep prior to epoxy primer you wont have any problems IMO
but if you want to pay a guy to clean off all the crap just so you can do some welding .... then pay to have it blasted when your done....................... i think that sounds a little redundant to me .
Good luck with your painter

As a painter ( over 20 yrs) and builder. We have cars in bare metal for months at time. We always start by stripping the car and sandblasting before mock up because a lot of times there's work that needs to be done u can't see. Plus all the crap is cleaned up and easier to work on. But, as a painter I know why he is saying that. So why not get it blasted then epoxy prime or etch prime it then its cleaned up and protected. Just my opinion
"We have cars in bare metal for months at time". I think they call that metal art

The car uses Fatman 2" drop Spindles with Killer Customs Tublar Upper Control Arms for the best geometry and no upper Ball joint bind ( as i have seen is a major problem with the brand of upper arm we started with i would check yours if the car is low)
and QA1 adjusted all the way down.......... as for how much we lowered it i am juessing at 3 to 3.5

Did you run into the famous Fat Man steering arm to wheel interference yet?
Car is coming along very nice.

We had changed to a Unisteer rack, and they supply arms that are a little shorter in length to increase the steering. we have 19" front wheels and YES we had to mill off 1/4" on the tie rod mounting surface and re taper the bore. and now there is about 3/16 clearance from the tie rod end to wheel. but that is also with an offset hub we built to move the wheel in 5/8 of an inch to reduce the scrub and give more inner wheel well clearance
Not a big deal

I cant wait to see the final pics of this car. I really like how he routed the exhaust around the gas tank then still out the center bottom of the car. I know mine out the center of the bottom was hard so his had to be even more difficult.
Hi Blake!
It looks really great... I hope I get the chance to see it somewhere this year.

Two more days
Unfortunatly the interior will not be 100% done by the show. the stereo guys are going to do the sound system, door panels and center console after the show.
But man this has turned out to be one of the best looking 69 camaros i have seen (not that i am very bias either) after the week end i will post some really good finished pics

Looking at the picture I noticed that you have a Triangulated 4 link. How is that working out. How was it put together, like mounting the inner links did you have to cut up any of the body. How much was invested to do that?
I have a 73 camaro and I bought Strange 10 way adjustable rear coilover shocks but was disapointed when people were telling me that it would cost like $1500 to get the right suspension in. Let me know.

04-26-2006, 12:38 PM
Hey Markss28
The 4 link actually worked out very well it is an Art Morrison piece and we just used the factory front spring mounts and then had to cut into the floor behind the seat and built a mount inside the car for the upper arms, the nice thing is the bottom seat only needed one bar cut to fit. it does set the ride height down very nice and we still hav e 2.5" of compression. the best thing about it is NO panhard bar.

Sounds like a cool set up. What did it run you from Art morisson?
