Battery location in trunk

I am sure there are a lot of Lat-G cars with your batterys in the trunk. From what I have been reading the ideal location is below the package tray on passenger side. I have found after measuring that area there is not a lot of room in that area. Is that the general consensus and are you putting your batteries behind rear wheel tub on passenger side??????

How much room do you need? Here's the latest in the Camaro with an Optima battery, twin PWM controllers, stereo speakers, and amplifier. It's not terribly cramped but removing the battery makes working on the other components easier. The car is not mini-tub'ed.

I have an Odyssey battery and the sob is heavy, I will have to check the height difference between the two. That is the best location to install it, wish I would have received more input from everyone.

Whose battery box Jer? As in who made it or who's car? It's my car, Attwood is the brand name of the plastic battery box

There are varying reasons. One plus for behind the right rear wheel is greater weight transfer to rear, and maybe some cantilever effect offsetting driver weight if you use your imagination. I didn't make it up, I read it.

One con for that spot was brought to my attention in CarlC's Honor Flight Camaro update thread is the possibility of collision becoming fire/arcing.
Crash = bad, crash then fire = worse.

Mine resides at right rear presently. If I relocate it will be far enough inboard to allow for future mini tubs... just in case. As it is though I thought I was smart securing it through the double layer at the frame rail.

Look up Camaro XV, Mayhem, or Red Devil... if one spot versus the other truly makes more sense from an engineering perspective you will see where that in those.
