I pulled this motor from my 67 Camaro in favor of an LS1 swap. I have video of the motor running when it was pulled. Been in my garage taking up space since. Motor runs well, but has been sitting for a while. Here's the specs on the motor. Everything was the best of the best when the motor was built.

4bolt main 400 block, .020 over 10.5:1 CR
Forged Steel Crank (350) I think it's knife edged
Wiseco 377 pistons, 5.7 pink rods
Crane Fireball Cam
Chevy 441 heads, opened up for 2.02/1.90 valves, Stainless swirl polished tulip valves. Heads are ported and port matched.
Edelbrock tourqer (original style) intake with 650 holly Mech carb.
HEI small cap distibuter.
Brand new clutch still bolted on

This motor will scream! not the torquiest motors at the bottom, but will pull past 7k if you dare. Complete motor from Carb to the header collectors. Moroso chrome valve covers, chrome timing chain cover and chrome oil pan. You even get the roll around engine stand it's sitting on!

Located in Virginia Beach, VA I'm asking $2500 for everything.

Wow, 98 hits and no comments? Is my price way out of the ballpark? Does no one want a small block anymore in the age of the LS?

I confess I looked at it.
Any dyno slips or invoices on it?
If it was closer it would have peaked my interest more.

I wish I had some numbers on it, but I built it so long ago. It's been mostly sitting in the car since I graduated college and raised two boys! The video of it running is just last year when I fired it back up again to prove it's a running motor. It should be over 400hp to the wheels but I have no proof. It should be gone through and freshened up, but nothing is wrong with it and I suspect it would be very difficult to find most of the parts that are in it today. Some of them where difficult to find 25years ago.

I looked at it because I just blew mine up last year. But a 377 is a fun revving motor.

If I were a buyer I'd want cam specs.

Cam Specs I do have! found the cam card in the console when I took it apart! I'll post that info up tonight when I get home. If yours blew up you need spare parts right? LOL You are the only other person I've seen with this motor combo.

I didn't notice the Cam listed as a Crane Fireball when I skimmed it. I'm going to laugh if it is the same cam I have now in the 327. Only because of the coincidence, mine is likely the same era... predates my daughter who turns 21 next month.
No disrespect meant. Mine likes to rev too, likely a little much cam for a 327

I read it also, because I too used to own one. :)

I loved that engine! It was ridiculous how quickly it would spin up...

GLWS!

It was fun while it lasted but I've added a bunch more cubes to add torque to the horsepower. :)

Ok, so I pulled the Cam Card out of the console (which was covered in dust on the top shelf of the garage!) Part No 114201, 455/296 int 455/296 ext. Crane Fireball 296A is the grind number. No where does it tell me the LSA, but it's pretty lopey.

I believe mine was the 302h Fireball II... and I am at 10-1 piston, 331ci with 241 Camelbacks w/ 2.02 valves

Hope this is correct for yours, I entered your part number. If not let me know and I will gladly edit or delete the post if you prefer.

If I didn't already have an engine I'd be all over this. Have a look at my build and you can see what $10K gets you here. To be honest the price is so low I am reading the build list and wondering what the catch is. This may be one of those cases where you are too cheap and people just don't believe it.

IMHO, I would pull this ad and list it local at double the price. If I lived closer I would be grabbing it to resell and make a quick buck.

I didn't think I was too cheap, but if you like I'll double the price and meet you halfway for delivery!
I know you can't even buy the parts to build one of these for my price, but I've decided I"m never going to use it again I want to clear some space in my garage. Hell, the carb alone is worth $400!
The motor has been sitting for a long time, you can bolt it in and go, but to be honest, I would go through it and freshen it up. For just another couple Hundred you can have a fresh 450Hp Small block.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the Headers will fit an AME or Scott Mock Frame with C5 suspension! I'll part them if anyone is interested. Check out the early pages of my build thread and you'll see the motor sitting in my chassis.

I would be interested. Im not TERRIBLY far away. I'm having a 400 small block redone basically from scratch. Had I known it would be $6k for the job, I would not have gotten involved in it.

Still have this motor! Please someone come take it out of my garage and leave me some cash. Bumping back up with a pic. I'll even throw in the radiator and headers.
