Hello,

I am at the point in my project where the body of my 69 Camaro convertible must be sent to the media blaster. I have done a little research about installing some braces in the door openings to keep the car straight during the process. I will be fabricating some sort of bracket that attaches to the holes made for the hinges and tied to the where the door striker is. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for this tool based on their own experience ?

I plan on making some kind of turnbuckle system to tighten it up so that the car returns from the media blaster as square as it is now.

Thanks,

cheezer

I used angle iron and welded it in place on the inside of the car. Cheaper and guaranteed not to move. I did that to my 67 Chevelle convertible and it came back the same way I sent it to them.

I also used angle iron but cut 3 pieces for both sides drilled holes and bolted them to where the striker plate goes and to the door hinge locations. I then just welded in the cross bracing between the 3, that way I can simply unbolt it.
