Well gang Scott and I are at it again LOL.... Collaborating together Carbon Kustoms Ltd and Vintage Racing Products plan to introduce a new C-10 frame option and will subsequently build the new ""10 Pass 2"" project.... The spirit of the build will be to showcase a responsibly affordable C-10 build that runs a C-5 Corvette suspension for the garage do it yourself type builder... This concept will provide for someone to go out and find a C-5 roller (i.e Cleveland Pick Apart) and transfer the suspension components/system directly over to the bare truck chassis resulting in an affordable independent rear suspension chassis... A garage builder could reasonably expect to complete a C-10 on stock components in the 26-30,000 range.... Imagine the fun of C-5 handling characteristics in an affordable pickup packaging,,,,, welcome to "10 Pass 2"........

Awesome project guys! But, can it haul parts or engines for future projects??? That would just send it over the top. Okay, maybe the last part is wishful thinking because I have always wanted a cool parts hauler myself.

Matt with the help of our friends over at Ride Tech, a little Bearing and Hub update and you'll be good to go.... One custom parts hauler coming right up ;-)

I'm gonna be glued to this thread like stink on you know what. LOL!! I have a C10 and cannot wait for someone to make more options for it. Mines is a 68 swb. The great thing about this for me is I already have all of my C5 front and rear control arms and all four spindles. Just needed a frame. I was gonna do something custom, but now since Scott is coming out with something, it's a done deal. Let's go!!!!!! :popcorn2: :popcorn2: That rendering is nasty.

LOL indeed.... I think the issue of common sense and expectations need apply here though..... We've spoken to Ride Tech's own Bret Volkel and he and I both agree that an air suspension would serve well in a towing required application... Now that doesn't mean your going to go out and buy a 26-28 foot enclosed trailer, load it all up with a heavy car,,, and all the weekends goodies and expect to haul it with a sort wheel base IRS truck either.... Personally I wouldn't tow that kind of a load with a sort bed truck with a solid axle setup either for that matter but I would however consider towing an open trailer with an F-body as an example...
Anyways, we're still doing do diligence on the matter of towing and will share our thoughts as we get the results in... I have called on an old friend and Corvette expert Chris Petris to speak to him about his own idiosyncrasies on the C-5 IRS and the intended application....

The towing spec for the Dodge SRT-10 Viper powered pick up with IRS..... was about ZERO (7,500 #'s) and it's bed load was something equally ridiculous like 1150 pounds.
That was an awesome SHORT bed truck -- but it was made for just about anything OTHER THAN towing.

Greg, that was a rare Dodge truck with an IRS.
Albert and Scott, I am really looking forward to seeing this come together.

Love it, just picked up a C10 / 20 cab and chassis today. I've got the C5 running gear. My question is what will the ride height be? Will the back off the cab and tunnel have to be cut for the torque tube and shifter rod (if manual). Also will the firewall have to be modified to set the engine back behind the Axle centreline if using factory steering. Or will you use modified spindles(ie Morrison) and use a custom steering rack lowered to clear the engine.
Cheers Tim

You've got my attention. I would even consider building one just for Towing so I could get rid of my Tahoe and have something cool pulling the Camaro.
