Im after some advice on purchasing a set of 335 30 18 tires for my 69..

My car is street driven only but i want a good looking sidewall and treadpattern ... the car isnt driven very often so wear isnt a big factor.

tire rack has 'toyo proxes r888' & 'bf g force kdw2'

also on ebay here there is a new set of 'proxes RA1' tires for a good price..

whats is a good looking sidewall and pattern tire outa these ?

I run the R888 335's on my car. I love them. Great street tire, and they look killer too. Can be a little noisy on the highway though.

I see a lot of people loving on the R888's. BFG's should be nice as well.

R888s is a good choice. So is the new Rival in a few months.

I hope you didn't mean the KDW. That's a very dated tire at this point.

RA-1's were an epic tyre for what you're doing, great traction and good/fair wear, grooved too. I'd say anything second hand would have "gone off" by now, did hear a rumor that certain sizes were still being made though.

R888's are next best IMO, well in the dry anyway!

Waiting patiently for the Rival's to emerge :relax:

yeah Ryan , i have been doing a bit of 'tire' research and for the price and what these offer they seem a good deal. There is a set of RA1 toyos for sale here but as some one said they would be old stock and may be a little hard now? Just gotta get a set sent downunder as no-one here has them in stock,, unbelievable ..

can you believe 'tire rack' arnt allowed to ship toyo tires outside of the US??

and online tires want $636 to ship 2 tires .. mmmmm

the RA1 toyos here are dated 97V2507 - 25TH WEEK 2007 ?

these are the things we face 'downunder' with supply

Use these guys, I've brought a few orders in now and they do Aussie too. Have Tire Rack ship them to their warehouse in CA, then let Mainfrieght handle it from there.

A lot cheaper than what you've been quoted!

Does the R888 have a 200TW rating? Can it be used for goodguys?

R888 have a 100 tw rating. U can run in the Good Guys autocross events but with those tires your times will not count or qualify you. There rules are 200 tw minimum.

Shipping to CA generally adds tax to the order. There are several ways around it, though. Depends how switched-on the seller is. One is to use another delivery address (or company, outside CA) - Or companies like ShipTo. The other is to have the correct paperwork dealt & received, showing the delivery will be outside USA. Tax shouldn't be charged, but I've dealt with a ton of people with blinkers over the years :(
