View Full Version : April 06 Feature: Ryan Barichello's LS1 69 Camaro
April's feature on Lateral-g is Ryan Barichello's LS1 69 Camaro. It's an awesome car, has the right stance and looks exactly how a g-machine should look. Congrats on all your hard work, Ryan. The story behind the car is every bit as interesting as the final product. I just wish I was closer so I could get a ride.

Ya know, Ryan really wanted to paint it Mary Kay Pink, but ended up with the Candy Red. Then he was thinking of mounting a snow plow on the front, but ended up with painted bumpers. :unibrow:
Hey, that's just an awesome car Ryan. That paint and the PT stance are right on. As you know, your car had a direct effect on my color choice.
Hopefully, we can meet you in person too...

- Scott thanks for the sweet webpage and recognition. I wish I were closer to you guys to meet up and have a beer some day. You guys can always come up here and see if you can drink as much Canadian beer as you can American
- Bruce, it's funny you mention that as my buddy who owns the body shop kept telling me they were going to paint it HOK Magenta to scare me a bit. :wow:

Drives really good so far, and the ride is nice. I haven't even put 500 miles on it yet. And haven't brought the revs over 6K, but so far the motor feels really strong. Lots of power up top. I want to get it on the dyno to see some numbers this summer. Maybe hit some track events and some 1/4 mile passes. :D

Ryan....outstanding example of a 69 Camaro with modern components! I was wondering about your great looking air intake tubing arrangement. I have a 69 with an LS1 project and I need to complete this part of the installation. Did you fabricate or did you purchase....any assistance would be appreciated!

Hey Chuck, I got 100% of the idea from Steve Rupp's blue '69: www.z069.us
My exhaust guy built it with 3.5" tubing and then I had it ceramic coated. We also extended the MAF and air temp sensor wires and ran them underneath to hide them.
