I'm listing this as a donor car because its worth more to somebody building a PT car than as an actual car if that makes sense. Having said that, the car is pretty complete the body has some dings and checking and the hood needs love. 98 Z28 with 112k miles. I picked it up as a donor but since found another motor and trans. It is straight enough to fix and if it does not sell I will paint it and sell it as a finished car. The motor is a 2000 Z28 motor becasue the other motor spun a rod and it was replaced with this 2000 Z28 motor. I sent this one out and had it done by my machine shop anticipating I would use it in my project. Not a cheap refresh, I was planning on keeping it for me so no corners were cut. I can provide reciepts and references but these guys know what they are doing. Torque plate, all the right stuff. Not some dim wit with a drill and dingle ball. Motor was just cleaned up, plenty of life left in it (for an LS1). It has the good factory rods, better than what was in a 98. The trans worked and I can't tell if it had been gone thru previously. The car actually ran very well and I've been around LS motors quite a bit. I had my father drive it who has a 00 Vette and he agreed it was way, way faster than his car. (Both auto). If you plan on using an after market cam than nevermind, but those on a budget will find this motor pulls pretty friggin hard. Motor is currently out of the car and can be inspected. Heads are fine and need nothing. I would obviously suggest a new timing set and oil pump. You will also need head bolts and gaskets. The interior is pretty decent, the driver's lumbar is worn just like all of them. The center console button is missing and the driver's door window switches are garbled. Power seats. Brakes are good but rotors need driving or new, can't tell. It's was sitting when I found it and its been sitting since.
If you are on this site I don't have to tell you what this stuff is worth. It is a complete car you can swap into a 1st or 2nd gen complete with wiring fuel, everything. Yes you can find donors and wrecked cars a little cheaper, but they will have 120 mikes on them. I've done the hard part and found an LS machine shop that knows what they are doing and the motor is ready to go. You can contact me at [email protected] or 719-659-7318.
If interested I can build your car for you, but we would need to talk about that, I've been a bit short on time lately. I would very much like to see this get into the hands of someone who knows what to do with it. Otherwise I'm going to do the body work and paint and sell it outright as a complete Z28. My wife would rather me work on the 67 than this.
