Hi, i have some spare cash that i have been saving for a future g-machine, and its come time that i buy one. I'm planning to buy a 67 Nova or Nova SS, but i have so many questions, and unfortunately there are no nova specific forum sites. I saw some beautiful nova's of members, and thought this may be the right place.
1.Just to get a clearer idea, whats the differences between the 67 Nova and the SS
2. I want to fit 17 front and 18 in the rear, (or maybe 17 all round) do i have to "tub" the car? i have no idea what its for or what is done.
3. Also, can i fit a Ford 9in if i "tub" the car..
4. And last of all, is there space under the hood to fit in a supercharger with the big block V8 already there?
As you can see, im quite a newbie, and would appreciate any help because i've just sold one of my cars, and plan to get the Nova very soon...
Thank you so much,
Jason

There is a nova site called stevesnovasite.com you can try that there is some novas on there. The difference between a nova and the SS it only really the trim on the car...... and SS interior......... You can put a Ford 9' under the car and you could put a 18 on the back without tubbing the car as long as the wheel isnt that wide. But if you want anything wider than a 8' wheel on the back your going to have to do some cutting if you look at my site I have 17's all around on my car If you have any other ? on Chevy 2s I would love to help......Just Drop me a PM

Yeah, for Chevy 2 specific questions, Steve's Nova site is incredibly helpful and everyone on it is extremely eager to offer advice to a fellow Nova fan. There is a wide variety of Nova fanatics there, some are into Pro-touring, pro-street, stock, gassers, retro-rods, etc. You name it, they've got it. Though, I've found there is extremely valuable info and discussions here that won't be on Steve's.
Sounds like you know what you want...66-67's are great cars to build in the Pro-touring style and there's not a million of them at every car show. Good luck with the search and let us know when you find something....we want to see pix!!!!!

I just picked up a '66 Nova roller myself and plan on beginning a pro-tour project also. I've learned a lot from these sites in the last few months along with talking to various people and builders. As far as abig block that may be tough depending on what type of supercharger you want to put on it. Also, it depends on if you're going to put a cowl on your hood or not. I'm probably going to go with a supercharged LS2 or LS1 setup and push the engine as far back in the bay as I can for better weight distribution. I'm also going to try and do a full rail setup so that I don't have some of the packaging issues that these kind of cars have. PM if you have any questions. I'd be more than happy to give my .02! :)
