Baileigh is offering a free metal shaping seminar on January 12th. We have over 30 students and around 10 instructors. Many of them are big names in metal shaping. We have a nice mix of hot rod builders, airplane guys, chopper builders, Ferrari builders, blacksmiths and metal shapers and sculptors. They are all coming to Wisconsin from all over the country, all for the love of metal shaping. We will be teaching the students how to use power hammers, shrinking dies, reciprocating hammers, planishing hammers, bead rollers, shrinker / stretchers, English wheels and plenty of other metal shaping tools. Each student will leave with at least 2 projects they designed and built themselves.

This looks to be a new chapter in Baileigh’s future. A training and development program for the metal shapers out there. We were trying to limit the class to 25 students, but had over 60 guys interested in coming. With this much interest we will be having these on a regular basis. Every student is from a forum, and most of them are from the The Jalopy Journal hot rod forum forum so it should be a blast.

Please stay tuned to this thread as I will be providing live coverage of the event.

Do you have any plans to offer these at your SoCal location? Wisconsin is a little far for me.

Kyle Yokum is one of the most humble people I have ever meet. This kid is a master at metal shaping. Here is his story:

"My name is Kyle Yocum I am 24 and just doing the best I can to honor my God in heaven and provide for my wife and little girl by shape metal into custom cars and motorcycles. I have been working on cars since I was a teenager. I started out doing the metal and body work on my own cars and went to the Trumbull Career and Technical Center in Warren Ohio for my senior year in high school, where Randy Hess taught me the right way to do body work, but I always hated sanding and mud work, and I loved the metal work so I began researching old fabrication techniques and taught myself everything from how to Tig weld to how to how to build a complete car or bike from scratch, and I now run my own hot rod shop in Suffolk, VA. I have been called the best shaper around. My father always told me "If your going to do something do it the best you can." and that is how I treat every project. My favorite project to date is a '51 Studebaker pickup full custom. There is more custom fab work on that truck than I can even list including a complete custom bed, and front end."

Stay on the lookout for more of Kyle's work as he will be making waves in the metal shaping world.
