Hi guy this hands down is one of the best sites I have come to. Everyone seems very friendly and "full" of information.Lol I have been a 1gen camaro owner since 16 and never imagined doing a build like I am doing till after the kids were done with college but..... as we all know men have the patience of a 2 year old. Well here goes started off with a new dynacorn body and all sheet metal didn't want to deal with the whole rust thing. For the frame I went with the complete Art Morrison front chassis with all the c6 stuff. In the rear I went with the 4 bar and 9" set up. Started off with the Strange coil over but have already upgraded to the double adj JRI front and rear. For the brakes I went with the Wilwood 14.5 all the way around. 6 piston up front and 4 in the rear. Yes 14.5" not 14.25 funny story about that later. For power I went with a GMPP 525Hp crate Ls3 and a Tremmic 6 speed trans. I figure if I need more power later I can upgrade from there. There is a lot more done but I don't feel like writing a novel today just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. The car is being built by not only a good friend but I think one of the best builders around Zane at Cotati Speed Shop(formally Creative Concepts) in Santa Rosa Ca. He has gone over and beyond to help me with my dream car. If anyone was at SEMA it was the unfinished car in the Flowmaster both. I will put pics up as soon as I figure out how!!
Thanks,
Rob

Welcome Rob.
Sounds and looks like a great project. We'll have to hook up some day when both our projects are done. I'm over in Napa. Hope to have mine done in the next month or two.
Looking forward to seeing more...

Thanks guys! I have about 100 pics but can't figure out to get the sizing thing figured out! Going to have to ask my 15yr. lol. The headers are from Flowmaster they are a proto type they sent us to see if they would work with the Morrison front end.

Here are some more progress pictures and details of Rob and Jenn Pitts 69 Camaro. We are very excited about this build and the direction that it is going. Even more exciting is the fact that we get to build this car for a close friend. Follow along on both threads.

I am having a hard time with body mods. I want some small changes but dont want it to be a "era" build. I would like in 10 years to look at the car and make some small changes Wheels,interior,etc.. I have a little time so input would be great!

My 69 is now at home with me finishing most of the work. Cotati Speed in located in Santa Rosa. They do great work but the whole reason to do this car was to do a bunch of the work with my sons. Gets really pricy paying for work we can do.

Bending stainless is a pain in the a$$!http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j22/Robpitts1969/1969%20camaro/B7E4ABA0-231A-4AFC-9155-BF370378C912_zpssggtgdlu.jpg (http://s76.photobucket.com/user/Robpitts1969/media/1969%20camaro/B7E4ABA0-231A-4AFC-9155-BF370378C912_zpssggtgdlu.jpg.html) So here is where I could use some help. Is there a company out there that makes a thru the frame bulkhead in 3/8"? I'm About to run hose the rest of the way to tank and filter!

Car sold unfinished. Please think twice about buying a Dynacorn body nothing lines up. After buying several sets of fenders and looking at what all the small parts were going to cost it was best to move on. I am in the process of building a "real" Camaro now. I will start a new build thread on the current car.

I love seeing the less popular big blocks like 396/402 and 427s being used. 427s get my attention way more than a 454 or bigger. I'd really love to build a 427 with EFI and cruise it in a C3 vette one day. No idea why other than it just sounds right rolling off the tongue. The 409s are fun as well. I'm fortunate that the local car show once a month usually has a Impala SS show up with a built 409 in it. Car sounds soooooo good.
Have fun with it, Rob!

I'm with ya on the 427's ton of power and rev to the moon if built right. Same reason people love 302 and 327's! I have an original 62 date code 409/409hp. There might be someone looking for that original 409 (if it is actually a 409/409) for their car -- matching numbers sort of thing ya know.... and would be willing to pay a nice premium for it.
I think before I just "stuck it in" something -- I'd put an ad in Hemmings and maybe on some of the Chevy forums that would cater to that "era"... and see if you could find a buyer.
