I was suggested to post this in the wheels section.

What I am looking for is preferably a chrome plated wheel,
Requirements;
Tri bar spinner
18 x 8 front sizing with a backspacing available of about 4.9" - 5.1"

I'm after a classic look.

Right now I have a heavily customized (welded, hub shaved) front wheel 17" x 8"
If I go to 18" x 8" I can possibly go to a deeper backspacing which will clear the UCA's and tie rod ends, giving me the ability to run a wider tire.

The American Racing 427 wheels are great but do not have a deep enough front backspacing available.

I found these, available in 18" diameter custom backspacing;

Made in England, but the reviews on the company are not great. Customer service is not stellar and a few guys have reported wheels being shipped with an incorrect backspacing.

Most similar cobra wheels come in a maximum 17" diameter, so I seem to be stuck again.

I'd even look at a custom one-off type billet wheel.

Any suggestions?

Vintage Wheel Works might have what your looking for.

Don't be surprised if Swain chimes in with something Budnik has to offer or has the ability to produce. I see a few that look close but might not have a Cobra calibrated eye. Having said that, The right combo can really lend itself well to the look you might be seeking without being "correct".

Track Junky has a good suggestion and I would talk to Newstalgia wheel too. I know VWW introduced 18" sizes in the v40 and v45 a year or two ago. It is worth inquiring if their Shelby style wheel is coming in 18's but their site shows 17 as the max.

Thanks, and yes VWW makes an excellent wheel. The backspace offered in their wheel (4.5") is more suited to the Eleanor's and cars with fender flares.

I have to get the wheel at least 1/2" deeper

That's a gorgeous wheel. I'll defintely take a closer look at their products, thanks! :D Very nice!

Newstalgia has been one of my favorite wheel sites for many years, but unfortunately the custom deep front backspacing I need, makes it tough to get any off the shelf wheel to fit.

Right now I am using a 94/04 Mustang set, stock 17 x 10.5 rears and 17 x 9 fronts, which have 1.1 removed from the backspace, and 3/16 shaved from the hub face of the wheel, and a machined hub center, to clear the wheel bearings.

Unfortunately I don't see any new offerings for the 94-04 mustang wheels, that I like.

You're very welcome. I have no affiliation whatsoever but I think the Schott wheels with the concealed lugs and tri-bar look seamless and very well made. For yours I would pay extra to go either logo delete or incorporate a Cobra emblem for sure.

You are building an icon.:hail:

Thanks for the plug on Grudge ^^^^. There's a few of the Grip Equipped line that we're currently looking at doing a tri-bar knock off option for, Grudge is included. You can get 18"s with custom widths, stepped or smooth lip, offsets and finishes. And they're manufactured here in the US by Forgeline.

That wheel the op posted looks like an Image wheel. I have those on my FFR. I didn't have any issues with them but that was about 10 years ago. I ordered from a distributor here in the states. As mentioned, Team III makes a similar wheel and were also popular with the cobra replica crowd.
