Do the nuts have to be welded in the firewall for the mounting screws? Reason why I ask is my firewall in already finished and painted so cant do any welding now.

For your application we would drill & use rivet nuts to retain the plates..

Actually.. We have three Chevelle's rolling through the shop right now. They are just about through chassis design and will be going through the mock ups very shortly. So look for some Chevelle specific stuff to start coming out in the next 6 months.

Sorry Jeff, We don't make anything to cover the factory holes. Most of the cars coming through here have A/C. and the few that don't we just use the plate you see above for the heater hoses and put plugs in the holes for the A/C lines. So that there is the option to change it later on a finished car without painting or modifying needed..

Thanks, Brian

We currently have not made any in black and are out of stock on the gray ones. We only have the metal finish available right now. I would say possibly check with your local powder coater to see if they offer anodizing as I have found most of the one near us do.

I have been getting many questions about mounting techniques for these on finished firewalls.. I will be creating a how-to very soon that will help with your installations. I will post it on here as well

I didn't see the A/C cover plate that you show in the above picture on the website. How much is that, and how do I order it? Also, my car had factory A/C, so the opening is verticle (see attached pic) Do you have a cover that will fit that?

Thanks

The plate we have is more or less a custom piece and can be used on many applications.. We are always modifying and cleaning up the firewalls of the cars that run through the shop. so we weld in steel to finish the firewall then cut a hole and rivit nut the plate wherever it fits for that particular build.

We do have one left in stock, we removed the item from the site temporarily until we get more inventory. If you would like the last one let me know.
