I bought a firebird and have started to work on it. It is the car in the link below.

I actually didn't buy it from that site or auction I got it from some guy in Northridge Ca. I've taken off all the layers of paint and have decided to replace the roof panel, driver side quarter panel, and the panel below the rear window. I want to do the work myself. So I came here for guidance. You guys have some amazing cars.
when replacing the quarter and roof panels does the car need to be on a body cart? Do I have to replace the quarters and roof panel at the same time?

I put some phosphoric acid on the rear tail panel to remove some rust.

My plan is to put an 5.3 vortec out of a 2005 silverado and turbo it. been doing a lot of reading over on ls1tech and it seems to be the cheapest way to make lots of power for cheap. First i'd like to get the car rust free. i already have the motor and a 4l60e. picked that up for $750 came with computer and harness all i need is the pedal.

After a long break I decided to start working on my car again. I signed up at the local college and went after it. I replaced the roof, driver side quarter, trunk drop-down, and upper deck lid.

Life got in the way. Not long after that the car was moved to the back yard and forgotten. The engine was left in the rain and ruined. But I'm back at it. Today I removed the front suspension to rebuild it. This time I got a 6.0/4l80e combo from a 2006 hd2500. I actually
got to drive the truck before it was pulled. Now I have to figure out the picture situation. Why are they sideways?

My initial plan is to get it running. Remove the vats and smog stuff and work the harness. I want to make sure everything fits. Been searching the forums to see what everyone was using for motor and transmission mounts. I have some adapter plates. I think they are 1' setback. I may order the ICT Billet adjustables just in case. The motor and trans was dropped off last Saturday.
