Other than the paddle shifter can you guys post pictures or make suggestions of a good shifter that is in style for these transmissions.
Thanks

I have a 4l60 in my car, i picked a trailblazer ss stock shifter for it,i believe the tbss has a 4l70 but i would assume a 4l80 would work with it as well

The shift gate spacing from 4L60E's(and 65, 70) is different than the '80Es and '85E. It's just enough to throw off smooth function. This is especially true of the gap between park and reverse. It's wider on the 80E/85E. When using a more common '60E shifter on a car with an '80, it is possible to have a friend in the car move through the positions while you adjust the cable underneath for best compromise. That usually means engaging park but not 1st.
It's not impossible to use a shifter that is marked for use with a 700-R4, or 4L60E on a car with an 80E, but it is advisable to choose one with the correct 80E gate spacing. Lokar seems to have the best aftermarket selection of 4L80E specific shifters.
Hey Steve, would a TH400 have the correct detents on the shift gate if not using 1 St gear? I'm in the same boat too looking for a shifter but I have a good working Hurst for my TH400 now. Race ready products has a nice one for $265

I like the Race Ready shifter. Very positive action without any "pull up/push down/slap yer knee twice" lock-out nonsense. And they do make a 4L80E version. The only downside is that it is very large.
I'm not sure about the TH400 gate spacing as I've always tried to make the 700R4 4L60E stuff work. That would be a definite maybe. :)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. B&M makes a Quick Silver for the 4l80e. We are going to run a console so what we will probably do is make a more stylish shifter arm for it since thats all that you will see.

I used a shifter from a 4th gen fbody.I did have to adjust it a couple times but it goes in every gear.

I'm going to be using a B&M stealth pro ratchet. There aren't many options but this was relatively cheap and looks nice.
