does anyone on here have any experience installing a Gennie Shifter kit for a 700r4 in a 69 Camaro? I like the new Commander shifter arm option and would like to know pros/cons and could it be installed without removing tranny out of car? If so, any photos?

Have you called around to see if you can even get one?
Gennie went through some stuff a while back and were having a tough time delivering products. One of their guys went to hoffman group and started American Shifter over there.
I like the commander stick itself but I think you would be disappointed with the rest of the parts in the kit. The trans brackets are flimsy compared to a Lokar and you don't have the adjustability (front to back) compared to a Lokar either. Also the Gennie is kind of famous for jumping out of gear with a taller stick attached, I know thats not the case here but don't underestimate the weight of that billet aluminum stick.
As far as installation, the Gennie would install fairly easy and a Lokar trans mount would be pretty tough as their super adjustable bracket takes up some space. I would look at the Lokar floor mount shifter. you can put it almost anywhere you want and run it with straight linkage or a cable depending on what fits your needs.

Awesome feedback.....I have not seen the Gennie in person and only did an internet search and found it. Lokar was definetly another choice I had in mind and seen it at Daytona and the National Street Rod events lately. I have the B&M shifter now and want to go to a more low profile custom look.
thanks for the information..
