Hey Gang,
I've stopped by a few times over the years, had no idea Jody is an Admin here until today so I joined up.
I've been a member at Team Camaro-screen name 'Eleanor's Nemesis'- for quite some time.
Not sure if I should make that public knowledge or not, lol. That screen name was too long to use so I used the next best one imo.
I like what you guys do with your cars, in the future I will take one of my '68 camaro bodies and make a 'g machine' out of it. More into drag racing than anything, have a street/strip 1968 Camaro and a 1968 Caprice NHRA Stock Eliminator drag car (327/250 hp O/SA) at the moment, in addition to several project cars.
Anyway, I will have a look around and ask questions and make comments every so often.

Very cool ride, perfect bracket car. Hard to beat a first gen camaro for racing, or anything else tbh.
In which area did you race?
My favorite categories are Stock, Super Stock, and Comp. I really like the performance aspect of the classes. Super Gas is great too, probably the best drivers in all of drag racing. Tight packages in there for sure.
In 3 weeks I should have in my possession a '68 Camaro Super Stocker- SS/C 396/375 AL heads and a jerico, former record holder in in 2006 or so.
Love the stick cars :)

Hey, that's an impressive list of people. Congrats on the championships too.
Here's some pics of my street/strip car, fresh out of paint and I still have a little to do to get it fully assembled-in a couple of pics you can see the front end of the stocker-

Here is the stock eliminator car- '68 Caprice, 327-250 hp, O/SA & P/SA with former owner Marty Rinehart driving it (NHRA DIV 1) . I bought the car a couple of years ago, only raced it locally (brackets) and some IHRA stuff-good running car, I have gone 12.66 on a 13.45 index...it's been 12.58 back in 2003. With some new updates should get some 12.30s this year.

Street/Strip '68 before the new paint at world renouned Kinston Dragstrip- http://www.eastcoastdragracingnetwork.com/gallery/kdstfn11/5/tfn2-kds-017.htm
The car is real deal 'old school'...built in 1982, stock 350 flat top with '492' iron heads, small solid lifter flat tappet cam... motor has been untouched in the car since 1986,lol. Runs 11.90s with a glide, mismatched converter, and 4.10s. All steel.
Here is the super stocker-

Very cool cars, I've seen pics of that Blue Caprice somewheres. You not being from the West coast, I don't know if you have ever heard of some of these Super Stock & Stock Elm people I know... Chuck Stubeck, Randy Jones, Don Bevers, Ron/Andy Durham, Jim Defrank (owner),, John Calvert, Jim Stevens, John Schloe, Jeff Jerome, the Broaddus's & Bill Blakeney..Small racing world aint it?? :woot:

The Caprice has its original paint still, but getting a little rough in places. I need to put more decals on it,lol.
It's a good piece-I had a little advantage with that car over the other 327-250 hp combos as all of those engine combos w/ automatic trans in the other models came 'powerglide only'-chevelles, chevelle wagons, Impalas-only the Caprice came with the 3 speed THM-350.. I've got a lightweight ATI 275 first gear THM-350 in the car and I'm sure it is worth a tenth over the PG, especially considering the cars are 3800-4100 pounds. But this year the NHRA opened up the rulebook and allowed the 2-speed only offerings to run 3 speeds so my combo isn't so unique anymore. Hey, part of class racing is finding obscure and 'hard-to-find' combinations as you know....
I have heard of a few of those people...Andy Durham and his dad Ron had a great running '70 Camaro B/SA 402, now have a new V-10 Challenger. I've met Jimmy DeFrank at Indy , he just won the Super Stock national championship, seen pics of Blakeney's car....67 Camaro sbc with rally sport grill. Calvert has some nice cars, I've seen him at Indy with the T-bolt and I have his CalTrac bars on another street/strip 68 Camaro (soon to be 396/4speed A/S, or 302/4speed D/S).
Due to the dynamics of my work season I may make the haul to Pomona for the Winternats in 2014, as long as they continue to have a race in AZ shortly afterwards so I can hit 2 nationals in the same trip, so hopefully I would meet lots of West Coast racers. I've always wanted to go to Pomona as a fan, would be even better to make some trips down the 1320 there.
Not only is the racing world small, it's pretty dog gone comfy too :)
Why did you sell the red Super gas car? That is THE car to have for brackets and SG, although the roadster style body is taking over (sad to see imo).

I've been lucky enough to make a few passes down Pomona with Super Chevy and did some exhibition runs for the High school career day on Wed of the world finals. I hope you make it out here! I'd be there this weekend spectating but I got a birthday to go to.
MY little claim to fame is. One Summit race I had John Calvert first round (he in his "It's Automatic" Mustang) I cut a light and ran a great package and put him on the trailer and that is hard to do :willy: I met most of these Super Stock & Comp guys back when I worked for Bob.
I sold Big Red because (1) I got an offer I couldn't refuse from Austraila and (2) I want?? To go left and right LOL, I raced that car for 7 years, she was dead consistent and as long as I did my job it was hard to beat
I miss the comradery of my racing family, friends & the pit parties :woot: As you've seen... There are a lot of very cool people here on Lat-G and some very impressive cars and builds ...even the Fords  :lateral:

You know it's got to be tough for guys like Calvert to get a win, everybody gets 'up' for guys like that-congrats on the feather in your cap!
Think how Big Daddy Don Garlits feels in his A/SA Dodge Chally, lol.
The racing family really is a great thing...today I was at a local track, the racing was fun and all but the laughs were the best. Ah, the story telling....
I gotta tell ya it is just crazy how fast bracket cars have become. Lots of low 4 second (1/8 mile) rails and plenty of low 5 second door cars. Fast, fast, fast.....some junior dragsters are as fast as my street/strip car
Your current ride looks great.....imo the first generation Camaro looks best in blue and I'm digging the stance and profile of your car. In another couple of years I'm going to give the Pro Touring thing a try, I'd love to have a classic camaro that drives like a new one-or better even.
