Planning my ls swap. I have a tko, should I use it or sell it and go 6 speed?

Some more info would help.
Which TKO?
How much hp and torque does your motor have?
Do you plan on shifting above 6k rpm?
The T56 is larger how much tunnel modification do you want to do?

They make a great truck trans. Granny low tow gear and really tall 5th. For a cruiser that shifts below 5k they are fine.

I agree, for the average hot rodder they are just fine. Notchy but bullet proof. Notice the I in my response. :D
The transmission I have is the tko 600, like the thread says :) it will be a stockish ls2 or 6.0. Just deciding if I can use some of what I have. I am the average hot rodder. Just looking for driveabilty. :lateral:
TKO is a vibration prone, sloppy shifting, and is the worst transmission I ever bought.

I've used both and both worked well. The T56 feels a a little closer but, the TKO600 was a tad stonger in 1st due to the steeper 1st gear.

for a stock ls2 would you go TKO for fitment?

Fitment on the T56 required a decent amount of mods in the 70 Chevelle we installed it in. Required a custom console as well. Still very hapoy with the results.
